"Three Guildhall School composers take the 'harmony' of Hector Berlioz as a starting-point for a series of new works, commissioned by the Royal Philharmonic Society as part of its Bicentenary celebrations. Scored for small ensemble including guitar - Berlioz's own instrument - the concert offers a thoroughly contemporary twist on this unique composer's music, describedby Fetis in 1837 as 'un assemblage bizarre de sons' (an assembly of weird sounds)."

Soprano Keri Lee Pierson performs my one-minute composition written for her and for the Fifteen Minutes-of-Fame event.
This is the recording made during the live concert on June 17, 2023, at the Metropolitan Playhouse in New York.
The use of headphones is strongly recommended so as not to miss a few whispered words.
The text is taken from the homonymous poem by Emily Brönte:
"Fall, leaves, fall,
die
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
I shall smile when wreaths of snow
blossom
I shall sing"

Performed in the Closing Concert of the Midlands New Music Symposium, 6th December 2020

Nocturne indicates everything that is spiritually alive but impalpable, everything that grows and lives throbbing in the dark. It is the soul and the spirit, which becomes a real object in the breath and then disappears into the air in spirals of increasingly rarefied and distant sounds.
