For our next release, we are welcoming new artist to the label Loris Buono and Khazz. Their joint effort is called 'Surgery'. It's a dark and haunting record, with distinctive vocals and enigmatic melodies. It's the kind of surgery we wouldn't hesitate to undergo. Altogether with this release, we are launching our new artwork series, which we think suits very well to this record and its mystery vibes.

Poland’s Universo is set to inaugurate Breathing Room Records, a fresh vinyl imprint coming out of the somewhat unlikely area of Southern Canada’s beautiful Niagara Region. Inspired by sounds from the world over, the connecting factor between all of the releases will be one main element: percussion. Each EP will be diverse enough in its offerings, from dancefloor inspired leanings to soundscapes that take you on a meandering journey. Paired with the music will be fantastically striking artwork from visual and 3D artist Maks Pihs.
Previously known for releases on labels from his native country such as Transatlantyk and STEP/PETS Recordings, Universo brings his signature combination of deep basses, percussive rhythms and cosmic atmospheres to Breathing Room via the “Spheres EP”. The A1 and title track is a slowly building number that has a developing otherworldly ambience paired with a foundation that is wholly on terra firma. ‘When Time Stopped’, the second track off of the EP is perhaps the most dancefloor friendly of the bunch. It pairs the tight bassline with a thundering clap, Universo’s trademark auras and dynamic drums. The flip side opens up with ‘Budokan’, an East-Asian inspired tune full of groovy percussion and traditional instruments, showcasing a quirkier side to the Polish producer. Closing out the record is the aptly titled ‘Exhale’, an alluring and elegant composition with fluttering melodies, vocal synths and deep textures that transport you to a tranquil place.
