Fresh from releases on OMRI.'s Collecting Dots imprint, The Botanist taps in to the Lego-like philosophy of production, piecing together his sounds with precision and imagination. The result is a house cut built brick by brick: a bumping bassline at its foundation, punchy stabs for structure, Moroder-style synth bubbles adding texture, and a playful lead melody snapping it all into place.

This EP was born out of play, with no prior intention other than experimenting and having fun.

The first track, “El cabo”, started with some chords on the Korg Minilogue. We liked how raw it sounded and decided to keep that rawness. The progression came about in a very organic way, and we finished the track that same day.

The second track, “È solo un trucco”, also began with some chords and dubby atmospheres we created with the Korg Minilogue. We realized that the voice would be the guiding thread of the song and built the structure around it.

These tracks are the result of the path we’ve shared through a musical exploration free of judgment, aiming only to dive into what resonates with us, moving away from self-criticism and tags, and simply letting ourselves be carried by the purity of the moment.

A jazz house track with a nocturnal soul. It feels like walking under dim lights, where smooth echoes and steady rhythm blend with a touch of elegant melancholy. Music to drift with, to let the pulse guide you while silence becomes part of the groove.
