Just north of San Francisco, in Muir Woods National Monument is a grove of redwoods named Cathedral Grove. These are the tallest and oldest trees in the park. I saw them once a long time ago and I'm still awed by the memory of them.

For this piece I used BBCSO Core and Epic Choir from Spitfire Audio, and the Pianobook sample pack "Neanderthal Pipe Organ" by Daniel Werner.

A Majestic Fantasy in D flat Major

Losing You could be your story.  Unrequited love, someone gone away or passed, a lost child, or the feeling of letting go of something you love.  We have all felt the anxiety and also the relief of letting go.  My musical idea was from a Toccata in E major by Paradisi. I use to be able to play this from memory but now all I can remember is the first 4 bars, and it has never left me.  I start out in the minor key, and I spin out the idea in and out from minor to major and vv. I am a sentimentalist at heart, so adding a tender and hopeful melody is there. I received the great honor and I am extremely grateful that the great soprano Mrs. Gabriele Weinfurter - Zwink recorded the solo of my Ave-Maria and that MyOpus (Gerhard Richter) mixed it so beautifully with the choir.
