Terrence is a London-based DJ and visual artist originally from New York City. Inspired deeply by the eclectic mixing style of house music’s early DJ’s and his years spent as a dedicated dancer in NYC's queer house/techno scene, Terrence has crafted an approach to music that is tension-heavy, psychedelic and left field yet decidedly soulful. Terrence cut his teeth DJing at house parties, after hours and clubs around NYC including Trans-Pecos, Black Flamingo and Fotografiska’s Chapel Bar. His taste and selections vary from house, disco, techno and electro to assorted strains of UK dance music and are characterized by a distinctively emotive funky finesse tinged with a jacking queer sensibility.

Notes on the mix: I wanted this mix to feel like a trippy, percussive, acid-heavy wormhole with hints of UK influence inspired by my recent move to London.

About the mix: I spent half my life in clubs (and sometimes in community—they're not always synonymous), listening to and playing house music. House was born in the US. So was I; we're around the same age. I'm not from the originating generation or community, but I'm glad to be part of the continuation. For this mix, I chose songs I love that showcase the genre's multi-talents. Some are a bridge between disco and the future, some feel like old friends, others are made by old friends. I hope you find your next favorite song on this mix or are reminded of one you haven't heard in ages that you love.
