There is an elusive sweet spot at the crossroads where soul music, country, and rock’n’roll intersect, and the Austin, TX-based band Shurman hits that bulls-eye dead on. The band has gained a reputation as a “must see live act” built on their sweat-drenched live shows and relentless touring schedule. Underneath the raw energy and grit of the band’s performance lie memorable songs that breathe the truths of unrequited love, life experiences, and emotions both familiar and haunting. 
At the heart of Shurman is the songwriting and voice of Aaron Beavers, who founded the band in Los Angeles in 2001. Since then, he has built a dedicated grassroots following over the course of three self-released EPs, and 4 full-length recordings. In 2008, Aaron returned to his native state of Texas from the West Coast to “retune the band” with musicians from the vibrant Austin music scene. Now a dream team of such killer players as bassist Mike Therieau, lead guitarist Harley Husbands, and Clint Short on the drum kit behind Beavers, the group stands ready to fulfill All Music Guide’s prediction that its “songwriting and synchronicity will carve out a distinct place for the band on the contemporary music scene.”
In 2011, Beavers spent the year on the road as a member of Grammy-winning artist John Popper’s Duskray Troubadours but somehow, Shurman still found time to make 3 full-length recordings.  The first of the releases, A Shurman and Family Holiday Album Vol.1, was released on 12/1/12 on the band’s label, Teletone Records to much critical acclaim.  It features the band performing with a handful of their good friends who happen to be members of bands like the Mother Truckers, Stonehoney, Roger Clyne’s Peacemakers & Blues Traveler.  The records were mixed in the New Mexico mountains north of Santa Fe by fellow Duskray Troubadour, Jono Manson, who also guests on a song.  Shurman’s highly anticipated studio release, Inspiration, was released in late 2012 on German label Blue Rose Records with a very special Shurman Live at Roadhouse Rags to follow in fall 2013.  
Currently the band is finishing up demos and readying for a 30-date European tour that kicks off on November 13, 2013 and stretches through mid December. In January 2014 the band will be entering the studio with award-winning songwriter and producer Ray Wylie Hubbard to record their 7th studio album to be released later this summer. Hailing from South Wales, Argy UK is a DJ and producer that has honed his sound organically and with integrity over almost two decades. 

Influenced by the cross-genre greats and turntablist heroes, Argy’s style is unique in both energy and technical wizardary. 

After being hailed as one to watch through BBC Radio One’s ‘In New DJs We Trust’, Argy rapidly advanced through the UK techno and harder dance scene as well as gaining recognition across European stages, including Tomorrowland and Defqon 1.

Today Argy is a growing, evolving organism of an artist, hell bent on retaining individuality and pushing boundaries. 

There aren’t many DJs that can balance technical prowess alongside a performance style that is always authentic, and enthralling every time. 

As a master of mash-ups, he blends exclusive edits with pinpoint accuracy, with technical trickery and intelligent effects. 

He thrives on creating unforgettable sets that are defined by experience rather than genre.

Kevin Hayden is a drummer/producer/composer, born in 1980, Fort Wayne IN, to the parents of Tracey and Robbin.  Heavily influenced by his father, Kevin's interest in music sparked at the early age of 2. He comes from a long line of family drummers and was brought up in church where he was afforded the opportunity to play for various community choirs. When he was 13, he was noticed at his church by a well known choir director, Chris Ford, which led to his involvement in hundreds of local performances, a live recording with the Fort Wayne Youth Ensemble and tours in Georgia and Texas. 

In 1994 Kevin continued to grow and mature on the gospel scene but was inadvertently introduced to the music of jazz drummer Will Kennedy (Yellowjackets) which changed his entire approach to drums. A year later, his uncle David Perkins introduced him to the cassette tape “Masterplan” by fusion drummer Dave Weckl. Studying day and night, Kevin was determined to gain these new concepts of jazz and fusion. His combination of gospel, fusion and jazz led to a distinct and unique style which captivated his listeners. In 1998 Kevin entered into the US Marines but his musical journey did not stop. In 1999 while stationed in Camp Lejeune NC, Kevin was fortunate to meet drummer Lamont Sydnor (Christina Milian, Wayne Brady) who was also in the Marines and at that time playing for the Mike Corrado Band. After hearing Kevin’s skills, Lamont saw his potential and quickly embraced him as a friend and began to broaden and shape his skills on the drum set. 

After completing the Marines in 2002, Kevin moved to his mother’s home town of Milwaukee Wisconsin. It wasn’t too long before he drew the attention of other great musicians at various jam sessions and auditions. Since then, Kevin has worked with well known Milwaukee acts such as Christopher’s Project, De La Buena, Street Life, Growing Nation, the Terry Sims Band, the Evan Christian Quartet, Choir Fight, Isaiah Joshua Group, the Adventures of the Static Chicken, SLM, Ethan Keller and a host of other musicians and singers. In 2007, Kevin enrolled in the music program of Milwaukee Area Technical College where he studied music under one of Milwaukee’s premiere jazz drummers Ben Hans.

By 2008 Kevin had released a series of youtube videos which caught the attention of Gospel Chops CEO Gerald Forrest. This connection led to a spot on the 2009 Gospel Chops' bass performance DVD "Bass Sessionzs Vol 1". Here he had the privilege and honor to work on the same set as drumming legend Peter Erskine (Weather Report, Michael Brecker) and veteran pianist John Beasley (Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard).

Soon after the Gospel Chops recording and through the mentorship and guidance of Gerald, Kevin then recorded and released his debut album "Delegations And Assignments" which featured keyboardist Terry Harris Jr., bassist Damian Erskine (Peter Erskine Trio) and bassist/producer Lance Tolbert (Mariah Carey.) The success of the project then sparked Kevin to fulfill his music career by starting his own jazz fusion band, the “Kevin Hayden Band. This band featured keyboardist Theo Merriweather, bassist Dwayne Williams and saxophonist Tobias Cainion which debuted their live performance at the world famous Jazz Estate in Milwaukee.

In 2010, Kevin released his hit single “Distant" which featured his friends Joel Wade on keys, Christopher Marcellus on bass and Isaiah Joshua on alto sax. He also earned the Kevin Hayden Band a spot at the Milwaukee World Festival “Summerfest” and continued to perform regularly on the area’s premier jazz scene to include jazz clubs and festivals. 

2011 proved to be a busy year as well with the release of the gospel/fusion performance track "Awaken", which features the music of Phillip Smedley II who also produced Kevin Hayden's "Skyline" on the Delegations And Assignments album. Soon afterwards came the Kevin Hayden Trio and the debut release of the trio's "The Winter Project" which features Evan Paydon on bass and Terry Harris Jr. on keys. Guest appearances include Isaiah Joshua on alto sax and vocalist Camille Hunt. 

In early 2012 the trio acquired bassist Alan Harris and released their latest album "Paris". This album features tenor saxophonist Eric Schoor, alto saxophonist Isaiah Joshua, guitarist Darrien Williams and vocalist Camille Hunt. Also included is a very notable guest appearance by narrater Harrison D. Kern. 

Kevin is much of a family man and enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Natalie and precious daughters Kayla and Rylee.

Jeff Litman is one of the self-sufficient creative factories operating in post-industrial Brooklyn by the Gowanus Canal. Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, he lives among filmmakers, designers, and other accomplished craftspeople who make art in the slanted light of post-Obama America. After the crafty power-pop moves of 2015's critically beloved Primetime, Litman's latest release, Crowded Hour comes on like the first glimmers of an immersive club drug —a stylistic direction hinted at by Litman’s spacey, melancholic production of “You Only Live Twice,” his and Andi Rae Healy’s contribution to 2017’s all-star compilation, Songs. Bond Songs: The Music of 007 (Curry Cuts). On Crowded Hour, electro nocturnes of fleeting loves and compromised senses evoke a bluer-than-blue state under siege. Its soundscape is an artisanal blend of early-'80s Peter Gabriel and Prince, with an expansive palette of drum-loops scene-shifting from late-night fog to tapping anticipation, while distortion-wrought drones charge certain moments with the noisy transcendence of wizards from Nils Cline to Robert Fripp. The title is a phrase Litman heard attributed to New York's own Teddy Roosevelt, who so described a heroic (and fictional) charge up San Juan Hill that propelled him into the White House. "I'm not sure it has relevance to the album," Litman says of the phrase. "I just thought it sounded cool." But like some pre-dawn stretches of sleeplessness, his latest songs are indeed crowded. With the ghosts, memories, and illusions that visit adulthood in a time-warping age.

"One Foot Forward" opens with a shimmering invocation of someone who's gone but ever-present. A hushed pause before some action with mortal stakes, the song builds to vocal heroics and explosive drama primed for a coming-of-age film's crucial montage. “Only You" falls into this songwriter's sweet spot of love-song titles masking power-pop self-castigation. Its terse yet baroque composition is something you'd hear on a lost Raspberries single; a short suite for Mellotron and female vocal harmonies breezing straight into a fast-and-dirty guitar solo Elliot Easton might've dropped into 8 bars of an early Cars classic. Litman wrote all songs from 2014-15, during a rocky romantic transition, when he still shared the Earth with David Bowie, Tom Petty, and Prince. Each of these far-flung artists has long been a key strand in Litman's distinct sonic weave, but he uses each one's sound and harmonic language with a virtuoso's fluency and fanboy's discretion. With its note-perfect falsetto and subterranean moisture, "Next Affair" executes that impossible fusion of Prince and Elvis Costello, its surreal come-ons telegraphing cynical acceptance of post-Tinder erotic roundelays, where liaisons end as soon as begun. On "Shiny Diamond,” Litman sets the scene with a series of images, like someone studying snapshots from an old photo album, voicing a passing thought of anyone who's spent the better part of their adulthood in Manhattan, telling a former lover in a photograph, “I will never leave your island / and you'll never grow old."

Crowded Hour was released March 28 and along with Litman’s previous releases, Postscript (2009), Outside (2012), and Primetime (2015) is available anywhere music is streamed and sold.

Nicholas 'Doc Prop' Minniti is an avid artist, producer, and writer who strives to bring a distinct style and finesse to an audible medium.  Born and raised in the eclectic San Francisco Bay Area, Doc has immersed himself in the art of making music for over 15 years.  After graduating and earning his degree in Music Industry & Technology, Doc set his sights on a career of producing and composing music for film, television, and gaming as well as writing and producing music for artists and entertainers.  

With production on over a dozen albums, spanning over a decade, his accomplishments include a feature spot on Comcast/Time Warner 'On-Demand,' headlining the Bay Area Arts & Music Festival, as well as composing the soundtrack for the Nintendo game 'Ballpoint Universe.'  Collaboratively, Doc makes up 1/2 of alternative hip-hop group Project Grizzly (@pjgrizzle), as well as 1/4 of the dance-pop ensemble known as Bitterpants (@bitterpants).

From blues to orchestral scoring, the joy of creating and being engrossed in a creative environment, to Doc, is indescribable.  What started out as a means of self-expression has evolved into a rewarding career and everyday life style.  When not in the studio, Doc enjoys performing, attending cultural events, cooking, and gaming.  Doc currently works and resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Starting in the fall of 2010, the Southern Documentary Project, an institute of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi, began producing Sounds of the South, a radio show based on music entries from The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture. The show, hosted by Charles Reagan Wilson, is broadcast three times a week on Mississippi Public Broadcasting.

Each three-and-a-half minute spot discusses a particular Southern musician, form, or distinct venue. Topics include, among many others, Jelly Roll Morton, Bascombe Lunsford, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Jimmy Reed, Protest Music, Swamp Pop, Dolly Parton, Clifton Chenier, Southern Culture on the Skids, R.E.M., the banjo, John Coltrane, and Mose Allison.

Southern music has flourished as a meeting ground for the traditions of West African and European peoples, leading to the evolution of various traditional folk genres, bluegrass, country, jazz, gospel, rock, blues, and Southern hip-hop.
