Hypermnésie est une oeuvre mixte et improvisée pour violoncelle et électroniques en direct,  exploitant deux principaux univers soient celui du violoncelle - intégrant dissonances et microtons, battements, saturation, grain, harmoniques et multiphoniques - ainsi que l’univers du feedback.  Elle se veut une intégration de ces deux textures en une recherche sonore et timbrale, prenant son inspiration dans des esthétiques noise et ambiante.

Hypermnesia is a mixed and improvised work for cello and live electronics, exploiting two main universes: the cello universe - integrating dissonances and microtones, beats, saturation, grain, harmonics and multiphonics - as well as the universe of feedback. It wants to be an integration of these two textures in a sound and timbral research, taking its inspiration from noise and ambient aesthetics.

Teeth

These two miniatures have undergone several processes of “translations" - some (but not all) of their musical material began in a piece I composed several years ago, which I desired to re-cultivate under different circumstances. Sparse but with a tense energy, they are inspired by Italo Calvino's "Invisible Cities," which are desolate but contain a distinct sense of hope and remain open-ended. I see this piece as both a source of rejuvenation and an ongoing process to continue into the future.

Program notes:
O lente, lente nuit… o mon fusil si lourd… (O slow, slow night… o my gun so heavy…) is a tone poem for large orchestra. Embracing internal contradictions, the piece explores the cohabitation of diverse musical materials including prolonged and ever-shifting chromatic clusters, teeming nightscapes, and soaring melodies, among other sonic characters.

Program notes:
RADIO SILENCE represents the beginnings of an existential reflection on the brutality of modern imperialism and its representation in mass media. The metaphor of the screaming solo bassoon against an unflinching layer of “broken radio” noise represents an individual’s struggle to make sense of the world while being surrounded by unclear, interrupted, and/or disturbed communications. With textures ranging from subtly expressive to harsh and unrelenting, the piece aims to capture and distill complex and irreconcilable feelings, and to explore their inherent tensions in the framework of musical discourse.

"Approaching the matter until the borders disappear is like going into a continuum that seems not to know anymore (or yet) distinctions, separations. In the vertigo of indistinctness, hands, eyes and ears strive to identify relations in order to divide the matter and bring it back to a more human, finite dimension.
Touching, seeing, listening become the way to know and recognize at the same time, to give a name and a place to things. But these things change for constant interaction, so the attempt to frame the universe around us becomes imposition of form, establishment of relations.
