HALLUCINOGEN is Simon Posford’s solo project, he is also in the popular bands SHPONGLE and YOUNGER BROTHER.  His Track SHAMANIX was initially released on TIP Record’s compilation YELLOW, the first edition of the Shiva series, back in Dec 1994.  It would set dancefloors alight with it’s explosive tribal, acid groove and became an instant hit and a seminal track in the Goatrance genre. 

In October 1995, Shamanix featured on Hallucinogen’s groundbreaking first album called TWISTED on YOUTH’s record label DRAGONFLY where Simon had been working as the in-house engineer.

Fast forward to 2022 >>> DOMESTIC and SPACECAT have remixed this classic and brought it a new shine with their modern production, but whilst carefully keeping the vibe and style of the original.  This has produced a monster of a remix that has been reigniting dancefloors much in the same way it did 28 years ago!  We at TIP are immensely proud to have released the original and now this fantastic remix.

"Failed Transmission" by producer/live act Ason Teva, brings together four tracks of introspective, atmospheric techno.

"Illuminated" relies on heavy textures, statics and resonating surfaces, before introducing distant tones and an elusive vocal sample. The track goes into opaque, dubby terrain, then regains rhythmic drive while percussion layers dissolve into a cloud of reflections.

The title track is the EP's most cryptic moment. A pulsating, asymmetric bass drum provides an unstable backbone for an array of obscure sonic objects in a structural labyrinth.

In "Aborted Signal", a murky melody appears and disappears against a web of textures and a deep bass line.

"Mylar" returns to 4/4 territory, with stripped-down drum work and immersive ambience.

Non-traditional traditional tracks of experimental sound design, that can invoke hypnotic moments on the dancefloor.

KHA025 witnesses the return of Decibel Place to Khazad records for his first full length EP on the label.

Liverpool's Decibel Place is an artist who has recently emerged on to the Northern UK and wider techno scene with a flurry of exceptionally produced releases. With a focus on utilising powerful, energetic and rolling percussive elements within his tracks, his sound is an ideal fit for Khazad.

The "Broken Neck EP" is an exploration of energy and movement through repetitive call and response. Each track is able to develop a hypnotic like feeling but with a percussive toughness and vitality that primes them for a dark warehouse or club environment.

Also featured on the EP is a shadowy reimagining of "Tekowah" by Decadence who returns to the label following a fantastic submission on the recent Various Artists compilation. With this remix, Decadence maintains the raw driving energy of the original track but implements a gloomy atmosphere and intensity.
