Derriscott is a DJ, musician and producer, with a passion for cinematic soundscapes and the golden age of rave music.  He has always been fascinated by Hardcore – an often-misunderstood genre - whose creativity and feel-good vibes caused everlasting social change (and influenced future genres including the all-consuming beast that is Drum & Bass).  Derriscott has built an audience of ecstatic followers at VDubRadio.com via a weekly Sunday show called Hardcore Foundation, a celebration of the UK's raving past - which is now migrating to alphawaveradio.co.uk from 5th June 2022.  With a serious interest in all genres of music - not just listening but playing in, writing in and forming bands - it felt like the right next step to translate his unique vision into production.  Drawing on Hardcore, but also leaving his ears and eyes open, Derriscott produces music for the mind, body and soul ... and to get those feet moving!

After successfully participating in a PXD Musicsoft competition, I gained my first experiences with composing and arranging electronic music in the late 90s. But then I concentrated on playing the bass in various bands from different musical genres. At the same time, I started my electronic-metal-solo-project BLUTWURST BREATH (2000 - 2010), which was featured on numerous samplers. In 2011 it was succeeded by the new, more focused electronic-grindcore-project TUNNELBOHRER, which is still active today. In autumn 2021, my bands, in which I had been working as a bassist since 2006, unfortunately broke up. This was the occasion to revive my old passion for electronic music: KASTROPODUX was born. KASTROPODUX is devoted to the synthwave-sound of the 80s and the techno-style of the early 90s, sometimes combined with rock-guitars.

Hey Im PMcKenna. 
My music is experimental and mostly instrumental in nature. Mainly influenced by 70’s and 80s progressive rock (RUSH, Genesis, YES, etc) , blues, 90s grunge (Alice in Chains. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam)  and retro electronic music. I love writing songs that combine different genres, I find that interesting and rewarding. I have been producing my own material a little over 2 years now, and am always learning. I also do song covers now and then. 

I have been playing guitar, bass, and keys quite a few years. I’m a one man show, and I am not a drummer, so I use MIDI for drums and percussion. Everything else I play on guitar, bass guitar or hardware synths, occasionally some virtual instrument synthesizers can come in handy. Im still learning how to properly record, mix, and Master my music. It’s a very enjoyable process for me.  I greatly appreciate you listening and checking out my work!
