The Pièces froides are two sets of piano pieces composed in March 1897 by Erik Satie. Unpublished until 1912 when Ravel played them publicly, they marked Satie's break from the mystical-religious music of his Rosicrucian and Gymnopodies period (1891–95), and were a harbinger of his humoristic piano suites of the 1910s. 

The title Pièces froides, translated as Cold Rooms or Cold Cuts, is a punning allusion to the dire poverty Satie experienced during his last years living in Montmartre. In July 1896, he had been forced to move into an unheated ground floor closet (he called it a "cupboard”. The space was so small that Satie's camp bed all but blocked the door shut, and on frigid nights he kept warm by sleeping fully dressed with the rest of his clothing piled on top of him.

Here i've arranged the original solo piano for 2 classical guitars, 12-string, celeste, woodwinds & strings.

The fourth track of CHEMICAL is BEGINNING 3. 140 BPM. 6m1s. This is avant-garde and lacks any clear scale-based melody. In that sense, this may be similar to Polygon Window QUOTH. It had been over 35 years since I last played the guitar...

I started again at the end of July 2025.

On August 10, 2025, I recorded this cover with my cell phone,
WITHOUT EFFECTS, raw sound, with vocals and guitar.

When converting the file to Wav format, I simply heightened the volume.

First of all, I would like to thank two followers:

- Four months ago, the first one really encouraged me 
to pick up the guitar again.

- The second is someone I hold in high esteem, 
who gave me confidence and, above all,
strongly advised me to post this track as it is,
despite its imperfections (the chords weren't quite right,
the singing wasn't great...)
