Though probably it’s more about what all my songs are about… a search for meaning in an ever confusing world. Who’s with meeeeeeee!? Whayooooo

Basically I saw a documentary about this condition and I found it really moving and I was trying to think why and I think it’s because seeing this guy living in a cabin in the woods sort of summed up to me the pull that’s in all of us that live in cities but secretly long for calm and nature and less wifi…

It started first when I was still at school
I was sat in the library the day the wifi was installed

We fell in love when we were invalids
Last I heard she's doing well, lives far, far away
Married happily with kids
Guess for her it was something we just did

An anomaly with this modern day malady

Man at Sea is the moniker of Bristol based singer/songwriter David Hewson. 

 Often compared to the likes of Rufus Wainwright and Thom Yorke, Hewson has been praised for his distinctive blend of introspective songwriting and soaring melodies. His songs intertwine sparse arrangements with captivating melodies, underpinned by lyrics that explore existential themes and the contemporary loss of spirituality. 

Hailing from a small village on the Isle of Wight, where the sea served as a constant muse, Hewson's passion for songwriting blossomed at a young age. Relocating to Bristol in 2017, he embraced the moniker Man at Sea and began captivating local audiences with his poignant performances. In 2019, he released his debut EP, "Minotaur," which garnered critical acclaim and caught the attention of BBC Introducing in the West.
