A Berlin Waltz 

Capturing the charm, never ending change, roughness, and unforgettable smirk of my hometown Berlin. Listening to this melancholic and sometimes dissonant piano piece you can feel the contrasts and quirkiness of this unique city.
This neoclassical song is an homage to all of Berlin’s wonders and foibles.
A music video will be released with the song taking you on a little walk through the ugly pretty city. 
This is the first single from the upcoming EP 'River Soul (Songs For Piano, Wind & Water) This project was funded by GVL & Neustarthilfe Kultur.

String Quartet 32 ‘Слава Україні’ (Glory to Ukraine)  Opus 328

String Quartet 32 'Glory to Ukraine' is so called because the first and last movements use phrases from the Ukrainian national anthem to form different musical structures and combine them with material from two folk songs. The quartet was written in a few days at the end of March 2022, my necessary response to the terrible Russian war of aggression.

Streichquartett 32 „Glory to Ukraine“ heißt so, weil im ersten und letzten Satz Phrasen aus der ukrainischen Nationalhymne verwendet werden, um unterschiedliche musikalische Strukturen zu bilden, und mit Material aus zwei Volksliedern kombiniert werden. Das Quartett wurde Ende März 2022 in wenigen Tagen geschrieben, meine notwendige Reaktion auf den schrecklichen russischen Angriffskrieg.

Programme Note

In geometry, “flexagons” are a set of models that at first appear to be flat. However, when these models are manipulated (flexed), they reveal that they contain more sides in addition to its front and back face. A “hexaflexagon” is the hexagonal variant of flexagons that can possess either three sides (“trihexaflexagon”) or six sides (“hexahexaflexagon”). These shapes can be folded using a strip of paper and act similar to the origami paper fortune teller (also known as a “chatterbox”, “salt cellar” or “cootie catcher”) except, when flexed, flexagons will open up entirely to reveal one of its many sides. 
Mathematical mumbo jumbo aside, Hexaflex aims to invite the listener to experience a sonic equivalent of the movements inherent in flexagons. The music is constructed around various singular, distinct chords, that can all be reached from one another through different “flexagations” of the musical texture. These “flexagations” often require the musicians on stage to play more than two notes at a time, with overlapping chords seemingly not possible in a traditional trio setup, representing the phasing between two sides of a flexagon. The form is ultimately cyclical, as these chords do not necessarily function as points of arrival or departure, just as how there is no starting or ending face of any flexagon. 
Hexaflex offers a relaxing opportunity to forgo the torment of progression to some sort of future achievement, and instead, focuses on the joy of presenting what can be reached right now, through the simple processes of flapping, pressing, and pinching of its musical fabric.

Dexter - Intro Soundtrack

This album is a collection, raw and spontaneous, and the fruit of 15 days of artistic residency in the beautiful setting of La Becque, La Tour de Peilz (CH), in partnership with Françoise Siegfried Meier Foundation and the Montreux Jazz Artist Foundation.

A setting in which I was able to express myself, on grand piano and essentially on prepared piano, with introspection and escape.


This logbook is intended to be raw, spontaneous and representative of the immersive moments I have experienced.
Some improvisations are therefore presented, such as the themes "Memories", "Serenity 1 and 2", "La Becque", or experiments ("overdrive", "rework")
The theme "Mrs. Siegfried Meier" is a tribute.

Memories is also composed for PianoDay 2019.
