Microcosmos Records announces Step of Yours Is Forever Light by Dva Dereva.

Dva Dereva is a duet from Kropyvnytskyi (Ukraine). It consists of Nadezhda Makarova (vocals), Artem Cherchynskyi (synthesizers, flutes: duduk, native American flute, bansuri). The project performs meditative acoustic and electronic music using a wide range of ethnic instruments.

Step of Yours Is Forever Light is a wonderful blend of electronic drone and the sensual vocals of Nadezhda Makarova, which combine the album’s tracks into a single concept. Ethnic instrument improvisations performed by Artem Cherchynskyi add natural vibes to the soundscapes, and the field recordings expand the feeling of a full immersion into the natural, earthly mood of the album.

The deep, consistent sound of synthesizers combined with the melodic vocals and woodwind instruments gives a dramatic feel, and makes us reflect on what the future has for us. The conceptual idea of Step of Yours Is Forever Light turns to eternal values of love and kindness. It makes the listener discover the inner light that can dispel the external darkness.

Story
Yocahú and Juracán. The Breath of the World
At the dawn of time, when the sky still had no name and the earth was a sleeping breath, two primordial forces emerged from the womb of the universe: Yocahú Bagua Maórocoti, the giver of life, and Juracán, the spirit of chaos and storm.
Yocahú, silent and luminous, wove the islands with threads of light and coral. From his breath were born the ceiba trees, the singing rivers, and the first men and women who danced under the sun. His heart was a star buried in the highest mountain, and his voice resonated in the murmur of the leaves.
But in the depths of the bottomless sea, Juracán spiraled, jealous of harmony. He was a faceless wind, thunder without respite. Juracán did not walk: he glided like a shadow over the waters, and wherever he passed, the skies were torn apart.
One day, Juracán ascended, furious at the balance Yocahú had sown. He unleashed storms upon the villages, broke the trees, and shouted his name with each flash of lightning. The Taíno trembled, and the huts bowed before his fury.
But Yocahú did not respond with war. Instead, he sent Guabancex, the goddess of the hurricane's eye, to speak with Juracán. Guabancex, half wind, half woman, danced before him, and in her dance showed him that chaos could also be part of the cycle, if he learned to breathe with the earth.
Juracán, still roaring, accepted a pact: every time the earth forgot to respect balance, he would return, not as punishment, but as a reminder. Yocahú, from his stellar mountain, accepted duality: life and storm, creation and destruction.
