Curious song.  I like the experimental nature.

Have you seen the new movie on Netflix called "Fall".  That's about an abandoned radio mast.  It's really good.

The smooth reso synths have a nice texture and flow, but the percussives do not appeal to me, I'm afraid. The relationship between the two feels tenous to me.

Could be from the 1960's BBC Radiophonic Workshop.  Cool.

I like the little resonant pops throughout.  Not too much, but adds a fun character.

Some interesting sounds throughout. Unpredictable and interesting.

One Synth Challenge #168: Voltage Modular

I just released two ambient electronic tracks under my real name, Julien Guillot, on No Slack Records "Seasons 2022 (S/S)" compilation.

“Seasons 2022 (S/S)” is No Slack Records’ 5th installment of the biannual “Seasons” compilation series. For this year’s Spring/Summer release, artists from France, Japan, South Korea, Seattle, Toronto came together. The result is a whimsical electronic journey weaving analog ambience, heady bass and modular jams.

Jeremy Blake, a seattle based producer and musician, starts off the compilation with a somber electro-acoustic track. Then Japanese composer and contemporary artist Pollypraha (Takeyuki Hakozaki) retains the calmness flow with his ambient modular composition.

The third and seventh tracks are by French producer Julien Guillot aka Stazma. The tracks are like etudes in modular synthesis. The fourth track continues the experimental nature with “M0rph” by Livigesh, a South Korean producer and artist.

“Neverending Unrelenting Goodtimes” by Tornoto based electronic producer Dark Tapes takes the compilation into a dimension where it feels like one is in a traveling spaceship looking out the window.
Then the compilation continues with a heady bass track “MDTES101” by Seoul based producer Jeongjeon. The compilation closes with Flower Manson’s psychedelically leaning track “Grn.5”

OSC191 Forgotten Dream (Zebralette 6th)

Entry for One Synth Challenge 191 - U-he Zebralette 2

Made in Reaper using 39 instances of Zebralette 2 for 15 voice-split single layer instruments.
No 3rd party noises of any kind were involved. 
Light clean-up duties were performed at track level by TDR Nova.
A touch of snipping done by GClip and Flux Bittersweet on the drum.
Some delay was provided by HY-Delay 4 
Reverberation courtesy of U-he Protoverb and Valhalla Supermassive, 
with a little help from their friends:  HOFA System Pan, TDR Nova, A1 Stereo Control and JS Mixer.
Somewhat reluctantly living on the master bus are TDR Kotelnikov, A1 Stereo Control, Limiter No6, and Flux Bittersweet.

Disquiet Junto Project 0698: Second Third
The Assignment: Record the second third of a trio.

I chose a track randomly from the lines thread last week and ended up with @xhg 's field recording (https://soundcloud.com/xhg/disquiet0697-sunday-morning-gardening).  All the sounds I used for the beat came from xhg's recording and I tried to take cues from it as well.  For example, I tried to match the steps in the middle section for the pace, 109BPM.  I used a resonator set to G# because the bell heard in the last third of the recording is roughly a G#.
