We are back with our favourite format, the SNOEflakes! And for the 10th release we have something big planned for you! A while back we had a live demo listening session, and were blown away by all the talent. Two tracks we even signed and are more than excited to present to you today. 

First off, our new friend Sandar Sánchez from Ravensburg takes the lead. This guy immediately caught our attention in the listening session. Incredibly bouncy and energetic, this tune is packed with groovy percussions and on point synths that are continuously driven forward by tight hi-hats. No wonder we signed this one right away, too good to miss out on!

The second track is a collaboration between label boss Beth Lydi and her friend and extremely talented producer and DJ Daniel Jaeger. Also being based in Berlin, Daniel invited Beth for a couple of studio sessions, and you can really feel both of their styles coming together in this one. “Psychonautics” is groovy and weird, but also hypnotic with its pulsating and soaring synths and vocal elements building up a lot of tension aking to be released.

Thirdly, we welcome another new face from our demo listening session. Hailing from Nürnberg and being part of SNOE’s favourite club crew Die Rakete, Bernhard Groeger is not here to mess around. What first caught our attention in the listening session was the fierce bassline. We could say so much more, but you will understand when you hear the track. It just churns you in and out! Nasty!

Last but not least is the track we actually signed first for this little VA series. Elternhouse has quickly made a name for themselves with tight productions released on labels such as Raw and My Techno Weighs A Ton. They did a collab with their friend Vince Versa, and the result is a perfect dance floor bomb. It is a techy and dancy tune, with enthralling vocals, playful synths and a superbly catchy groove.

We could not be more happy with this little 4 track package. The songs are an ode to the dance floors we miss so badly. Every tune is meant to create blissful moments of fury and anarchy where the music takes over and nothing else matters. Enjoy our SNOEflakes #10!

Rounding off the year on Redstone Press, Debba comes correct with a varied four-tracker laden with hefty subs and lock-tight percussion.

The A-side starts out with fast-paced staccato kicks and the oscillating, warped bassline of ‘Called Up’. These elements soon develop into a twisted, energetic romp, showing Debba’s innate knack for upfront, low-end percussive work. Continuing with this theme ‘Direction’ adds reverb-drenched vocals to the mix and ups the bass weight, with gritty, looping subs throughout. These two will put that soundsystem you’re dreaming of playing on, to the test!

The B-side is more restrained and meditative but retains the heavy subs, opening with the downtempo and introspective chords of ‘I Said’. The drop in pace gives Debba’s signature beatwork and melodic flourishes space to breathe with the dreamy synths of ‘Subtle’ building up, then breaking down into a low-slung UK Techno roller.

Toko aka Gefangen Intrance, brought emotions and subtle tones that really impacted the show the last night. I am so happy he came on the show. Many Thanks Toko pal.:))))))

Gefangen Intrance aka Toko, short for his real name Torsten Koths, started collecting cassettes in his early childhood and later switched to vinyl. What started with cellar parties in the parents' home, evolved into an adult age to hang up in the NRW Clubscene as well as in the trendy Poison Club at the Dusseldorf main station. He was most influenced by the New Wave era and the then Scene Club Tribehouse in Neuss.
This time he experienced with one of his best friends. Together in the club scene they were trapped in music and in a trance. After his boyfriend died in 2010, Toko decided to change his name to Gefangen Intrance. As it was a great desire of the two to make music together, Toko decided for a fundamental change and brought the site gefangen Intrans to life . His passion and devotion to music is greater today than ever. With each set, he wants to tell us a story and take us on a journey through space and time.

Andreas Henneberg - Black Flag

We start the fall with the first single from Andreas Henneberg’s new album, “All Right Now”. The track “Better” is an emotional journey with rolling grooves meeting melancholic synths and soft percussions, paired with the light vocals of his close friend Stefan Krogmann. Andreas gives us a track with a kind of an indefinable genre-bending sound, both fitting beautiful festival sunsets and on your earphones when daydreaming away.

And then we take another turn. Everyone’s favorite techno-sloth has joined in with a fresh interpretation on the track. We are of course talking about Sacha Robotti! Head of the label “Slothacid” and based out of LA, this guy is loved and celebrated for his innovative take on techno and house. And Robotti’s remix of “Better” is just that. Driving and powerful the tune is seated properly within the techno genre. The groove pulsates toward the break, leaving us suspenseful and craving before the sweet release when the bass kicks in again.

With the remix being an excellent counterpart to the original, this single definitely showcases the range of music SNOE and Andreas stands for.

I am breathing electronic music since late 70s and that's over 45 years now. From Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo, Alphaville, Men without Hats, Nitzer Ebb, Die Krupps, Front 242, Anne Clark, Camouflage, Gary Numan, OMD, Apopytygma Berzerk and even the Commodore 64 demo & break dance scene to more contemporary Electronic music artists, I witnessed the evolution of Electronic music, which basically means I am an old fart and consider myself an authority in this music genre 😵 Currently I listen DnB almost exclusively. But I do not like to restrict myself at all, enjoying flavors like Electronica, Trance, Psytrance, Tech House, Dubstep, Deep House, Future Pop, Trap, Techno, UK Bass and of course EBM/Industrial as well.

What you will find in my likes and playlists is the top of the crop in Electronic Music, I will  absolutely not list any bullshit. A track I have not listed might be just that: Bullshit, just mediocre or an artistic gem which I haven't discovered yet.

BIO:

Sam.Search has already started his affair with music at a young age. Growing up in Kazakhstan, he started playing the piano at 7 years old. When his parents decided to move to Kempten, Germany, he was able to fully discover his passion for music. His first milestones were set when he started to produce music with MAGIX MUSIC MAKER and Fruity Loops at the age of 10. With unpublished tracks from a variety of genres like Hip Hop, R&B and Electronic Music. Sam.Search was able to find an enthusiastic audience and discover his first group of fans. For more than 20 years now, electronic beats have played a big part in his life. In 2015, he finally gave it a try and in less than a year, several gigs in the electronic DJ scene followed. He produced an unreleased track in 2017: Sam.Search - Runnin’. 2018 opened a new chapter in his life. He is highly motivated, full of energy and creativity and ready for more. Be on the lookout for Sam.Search!
