The way

This is a lighthearted and Romantically-inclined piece that is inspired by my little daughter who is into all “pretty things” in this world like flowers, raindrops and butterflies. The tree must be hiding a large bird behind its thriving branches and leaves. I thought so and looked up the tree, trying to find the bird.

I played the second part during my fourth day of Covid. I hadn't slept for three nights. I probably made worse without the excuse of fever !

Advent - time of meditation, time of reflection, time for preparing Christmas.
This is a calm orchestral fantasy about this special season. 
The music is based on the German Christmas carol "Wir sagen euch an, den lieben Advent".

This (improvised) piano piece was intended to be a jazz piece, and indeed ended up being a jazz piece. However, other than settling on a genre, I had no idea where the piece was going...until, that is, the main theme appeared out of the blue at 0:30 (about 30 seconds into the piece).

I am a classical pianist based in Canada. Many of the pieces I upload here are for solo piano. Some are performed by me, but the performances of the recent uploads are created on Staffpad app on my iPad.
