A nice contemporary piece with a great storyline.  Acoustic keeps the story rolling and helps out some of the song punctuation.   Great stuff Dave.

80% of the US economy is driven by the consumer generally buying useless things.Capitalism is probably the best societal scenario but only if you couple it with empathy and a reasonable safety net for those who need it. How a society treats its lowest economic class is the measure of the strength and success of that society in my opinion..not how much top heavy wealth is created.
True empathy is more than a passing thought or a superficial wave of the hand.There are plenty of people who have that empathy but there are plenty who don't

got another day off so there's time on my hands
got a credit card I know I can't afford
but the tv says I want some things I don't need

So I go downtown with all the rest
walk around all day buying things I can't afford
bring them home and stuff them in the attic
in a box with all the things I've bought on my other days off
on each I'll put a label with the date on a line

today on my way I stopped at a light

then I'll buy me some and take it home with me
