I think you managed to step on all my toes with this song Dave, it is all too easy to look the other way.  Involvement always comes with a cost, but not to be involved is ultimately far more costly, especially when calamity knocks on our door.

I have a special affinity for Winnie the Pooh. Hopefully I can get the fluff out of my ears so I can hear what others are saying.

History's Witless

Yet another instrumental inspired by a road trip. 
Can I fit another road trip in before the summer is gone?

All the guitar parts were played on my American Telecaster with Texas pickups... I aways seem to reach for this guitar when road trips are on my mind.

we read nursery rhymes to our kids every night..then we all go to sleep and wake up and seem to forget the stories morals.
sometimes the solution to complicated problems is easier than not..just get up and help.
the dangers of virtual reality/social media are becoming obvious to me..we lose touch with each other and the world and so lose empathy and the capacity to help.it generates a false sense of security and distorts reality.

one day a stormy wind blew in the 100 acre wood
it blew Yore's house to the ground
he stood all alone in the cold cold rain
losing all hope with no place to go

piglet was trapped in a raging flood in the 100 acre wood

Re-reading Asimov's "Foundation" trilogy. It's not how I remember it. Anyway, I've tried to conjure up a cityscape with an element of loneliness, Terminus being on the periphery of the galaxy... A bit like us, I suppose.

The man had to stop, maybe some doubts had returned,
He checked in his pockets to see if it was there,

Though he thought he was mistaken and had misread the signs,
He heard several voices from the pool room inside,
But the shot that he heard was obscured by the 9:09,

And he kept on walking right down the road,

A car headlight cast his shadow on a wall,
