Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bootsy Collins is releasing his 23rd studio record, Album of the Year Number One Funkateer on April 11 via Bootzilla Records/Roc Nation. Tracing back his legendary career, there was a pivotal moment: when James Brown hired the Pacemakers—the band led by teenage Bootsy and his brother Catfish—to replace his backing group in 1970. 

He also led the side project Bootsy’s Rubber Band, recording multiple gold-certified albums, and began contributing to recordings by artists including Iggy Pop and Herbie Hancock. When Rolling Stone put together their list of the Greatest Bassists of All Time, Bootsy was ranked in the top five. 

Collins has reached new generations for more than five decades. He collaborated with superstar Deee-Lite, provided the lead vocal on Fatboy Slim’s Grammy-winning hit “Weapon of Choice,” and acted as the narrator on Silk Sonic’s platinum album An Evening with Silk Sonic (he even gave Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak the name for their project). 

The 17 tracks on Album of the Year cover all the bases, from the silly Bootsy to the sexy Bootsy (“Pure Perfection,” which uses a delivery that Bruno Mars calls “the Bootsy bedroom voice”) to the social commentary of “Tonight We Rise.” 

In addition to working with young artists like Barbara Teleki and Bootdullivan, Collins brought in some other legendary contributors including longtime friend Dave Stewart of Eurythmics. The album also reunites him with Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and tha Dogg Pound.

Justin Quiles continues to be one of the leading forces behind the genre. As one of the most sought-after artists in Latin music, he’s also been the go-to songwriter for some of today’s biggest superstars including J Balvin, Maluma, Daddy Yankee, Anitta, Natti Natasha, Wisin & Yandel, and Farruko, amongst others.

 

His innate ability as a songwriter landed him a 2018 Latin Grammy nomination for the J Balvin and Anitta single “Downtown”. His debut album “La Promesa” peaked at #1 on Billboard’s “Top Latin Rhythm Albums” chart and #2 on the “Top Latin Albums” charts.

 

Following that success was “DJ NO PARE REMIX” featuring Natti Natasha, Farruko, Zion, Dalex, and Lenny Tavarez, which solidified him on a global level reaching more than 440 million streams worldwide.  This massive single has landed him numerous certifications including Platinum in the US & Argentina, Double Platinum in Peru, Mexico, and Spain and Gold in Colombia and Chile.

 

Soon after “PAM”, alongside Daddy Yankee and El Alfa was named Spotify Spain’s Summer Hit and has over 220 Million streams worldwide since its release in May 2020. PAM peaked on the top 100 in the global charts and reached #3 on US radio. The song is in the top 10 on Billboard’s HOT LATIN SONGS and LATIN AIRPLAY CHART for 14 weeks since its release. PAM has been certified RIAA Platinum in USA and Peru, Double Platinum in Spain, and Gold in Mexico. His current single “Jeans” has already amassed over 200 million streams worldwide and peaked at #31 on the Spotify global charts.

Denver-based producer ILLENIUM is one of the most successful crossover electronic artists today, topping the U.S. dance charts, garnering over 10 billion streams and headlining the world’s top festivals. 

Following his 2016 debut album, ‘Ashes,’ ILLENIUM broke into the mainstream via his 2017 album, ‘Awake,’ which includes his classics "Crawl Outta Love," "Fractures" and "Feel Good," with Gryffin ft. Recognized as one of Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Artists of the 2010s, ILLENIUM brings his dynamic music to life via his live show, which has dominated festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and EDC. His 2019 Ascend Tour, which featured a five-piece live band, sold out landmark venues like Madison Square Garden (NYC), STAPLES Center (L.A.) and three consecutive nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Denver).
