Meghalaya Green Echo’s- The first environmental awareness music album of Meghalaya released on the World Environment Day 2015

   	The Partners of Pla Iew Socio, Environmental, Sports cum Cultural Club (P. P. Club) was established in 16th October 2007 and  was registered under societies registration act 1983 on 13th September 2010 bearing registration no: E/16/5/ of 2010/119. The Partners of Pla Iew Club since its inception has been taking several initiatives to create awareness, voicing concerns on environmental issues and raise social consciousness on various socio-economic problems. 
The music album is a self-composed compilation of environmental awareness songs in 5 languages viz. Khasi Jaintia, Garo, Hindi and English mainly spoken in the state. This compilation album is a result of 7 best voices chosen through auditions. The different song compilation in the album are the echo’s of voices from different parts of the  State asserting their call for one and all to support and join the movement towards environmental protection, preservation and conservation. This initiative was sponsored under the Chief Ministers Voluntary Aid Fund 2012-13.

	The first phase of the album started off with open auditions inviting aspiring artist from all walks of life who were passionate about the environment issues.  The auditions were held in collaboration with 93.5 Red FM Shillong. Renowned singer and song writer Desmond Rimaki Sunn, Musician Rangdap Kharshiing and Sound designer Iuni Yoomi D D Shylla judged the 30 odd aspirants on different aspects, of which in  the end only 7 were selected to be part of the Meghalaya Green Echo’s album. The judging criteria was challenging as the songs in the album had to be self composed original composition with environment as a major theme. The recording for the album stretched for almost a year.



Each song in the album has its own unique touch both in terms of its music and appeal for environmental awareness. 

•	Come Together by Kupar Shadap is a song that calls one and all to stop preaching and the usual blame game on environmental issues. The song appeals to every individual to unite for Mother Nature and be the change, we wish to see.
•	Mei Mariang by Balasiewdor Ryntathiang is an ode of her love for Mother Nature as she grew each day with its blessings.
•	Pyrchang by Lyngkitbait Lyngdoh along with Golda Lyngdoh is a song urging us to stake ownership of our environment and begin with what is called Charity begins at home. 
•	Nagon Bil Donga by Raka Sangma raises an alarm to the rapid environmental degradation and appeals everyone to join hands to preserve the environment for the sake of our future generations.
•	We love Meghalaya by Edilbert Shane Kharbuki and Ribhashisha Kharkongor and music composition by Mr Romanus Lyngdoh is a Hindi song spreading the message about the mesmerizing beauty of Meghalaya and the call to preserve this beauty.
•	Endgame by Metal band Aberrant is a song that dwells into the darker corners of human nature and highlights upon our greed, selfishness and ignorance towards environment. The track Endgame calls for an action towards environment protection before the game really ends.
•	Ka Pla Iew by Banker Kharkongor is a theme song of The Partners of Pla Iew Club. The song takes a satirical appeal highlighting upon wide-ranging environmental issues.
The Music composition, recording and Master Mixing was done by Mr. Rangdap Kharshiing. 
He was assisted by Mr Agustine Kurbah. 
The Cover Design and layout was done by Mr. Fielman Lyngdoh

After taking the band life path...
I left that behind after about 7 bands...
rocking stages, following band life dreams..
being caught up in the band daze days...
finally embarking on my own experimental, 
home recording, expressive, raw, flawed
sound art...
as well as...after many experimental project names..
which started on Myspace..back in the day..
I evolved..and WrathBliss was born in and over the past 10 years.

Still seeking the right vocalist to unite with..
I sing because I must...Singing isn't for me..
I would love to focus on the music and not sing
much at all..allowing the right vocal, song, project
partnership to flourish with a much better, consistent, stronger
voice in the lead vocal role. I'm a happily married parent with a little family
of us 2 with our almost 4 yr young son, our puppy,
my distant and busy teen daughter.
I love my family and I love music.
I have a sense of humor.
I believe that we as humans, blood, skin and bones..
no matter our color, religion, beliefs..
should only..if ever we be judged..
we should be judged for and per our character, behavior, actions.

I'm not left nor right. We bicker too much, either staying firm on a side no matter what...or swaying like a crooked pendulum, with whatever side is trending.

I feel more people need to stop picking sides
and find a way to meet in the middle..or create a middle side.

All politics aside...
music is a tool...and a weapon...
used to bring people together..
or it is used to divide...as are most things.

I'm alright being an unknown, under the underground home recording artist
in a sea of tons of fellow artists that are much more well known..
much better sounding, much more supported.

When and if I ever gain the support of 10 real fans, followers, supporters
that really dig my musical recordings, releases, abstract sounds and etc...
I'll have reached a high goal..as I ..and perhaps...one or two others
out of Billions of people..seem to be the only fans I have...after all these years.

I don't currently perform live..which is perhaps why I get no fans...never mind all the music..lol...perhaps my creative offerings are horrid.
I hope to perform live again with the right musical family at some point.
Not to tour the world..but to play out and about once and a while..

old Ibanez electric from my band days, Fender Starcaster I found at
ARC for 30 bucks few months ago, Mitchell bass guitar that I play once and a while when I can get the right tone that fits song..if not..I play keyboard bass.
Fender Mustang III I used at times to run direct. 
No awesome guitar tone processors, apps and etc..
I wish I did. I do what I do with what little I have
making it work.
Drum layers/loops beats I dig creating from loops beats.
I sing because I must.
I don't smoke tote or drink. 
Judge me for my music and personality not because of 
what I do or don't do.

FOLKSWING IS COMPOSED OF 1 GUITAR, 1 MELODICA (TYPICALLY), AND ONE SNARE DRUM (USUALLY). THE GUITAR PLAYS THE TYPICAL 1, 4, 5 (BLUES) CHORD STRUCTURE WHILE THE MELODICA PLAYS NON BLUES BASED MAJOR SCALES.  THESE TWO ELEMENTS KEEP IT GROUNDED BY BLUES WITH MORE DIVERSITY BECAUSE OF THE MAJOR SCALES.  ALSO THE BPM IS ALWAYS 145, EVEN THE SONGS THAT SEEM SLOWER. THE POSSIBILITIES FOR FOLK SWING ARE WIDE BECAUSE THE GUITAR PARTS ARE BASIC, IT HAS NO BASS (AT LEAST NOT AT THIS POINT) AND THE DRUM PATTERN IS EXTREMELY SIMPLE.  FOR THIS REASON AND IN CONJUNCTION WITH A SIMPLE CHORD STRUCTURE, OTHER INSTRUMENTS AND PERCUSSION CAN BE ADDED IN WAYS THAT CAN ONLY IMPROVE IT.

ABOUT ME:

(GOD WHO CARES! ) I certainly don't which is why I put this last... but hey, for all my fellow-too-much-free-timers:

I have been writing songs for way too long. I can write lyrics, and play almost any instrument except horns and drums.  (LIKE WE CARE).  I can create music with so much musicality it's ridiculous, and I did for quite a while. Then I just got tired of it and decided that less is often more. Thus FolkSwing is one attempt at seeing how much substance I can get out of music that only uses two instruments (and a kit drum to unite them.)  

Before I became a huge fan of the melodica, I played harmonium for quite a while. I always loved the deep sustained sound it could produce, giving substance and texture behind the other instruments. I like melodica so much now though, because it's light, compact, and offers me more flexibility.

I was raised in a very conservative family that also emphasized art and creativity (there's about 5 or so of them in all history) which was the perfect environment to stay grounded and expressive, both at the same time. For this reason I most definitively am who I am. 

Although FolkSwing in it's native state is entirely instrumental, there's usually a story behind what I write and it will show in the title. Kung Fu Monkeys Fighting Bullies for example is about friends who help out the underdog and beat up the bully.  Fishing Every Morning with Grandad is about, tradition, nostalgia and so many other things that I could spend hours writing about them.  I Miss the Days, is about great times with people I love, overcomming personal demons and letting go.

I believe music is very powerful and is meant to be felt not just heard. I want to create songs that move the soul. Songs with substance. I feel we have somewhat lost site of the true meaning of music and I would like to contribute to bringing that back. I enjoy creating and writing music in many genres from pop, hip-hop, acoustic, dubstep to Rockabilly, country, blues and soul. I absolutely love the era of the 1950s and everything it embodies, especially the music. Some of my greatest musical influences include Johnny Cash, Elvis and Jerry Lee Louis.
