I started playing around on some technic 1200 mk5s and a simple numark mixer in 2003....got the itch to acquired my own gear in 2006 mixing house, trance and drum & bass. I have always dj'd as a side hobby, I am in the military and that is where my career is but there is no better hobby than to customize music the way I want it to be heard. Today I have over 10k from speakers to amps to my decks and a nice mixer, I enjoy every bit of making music sound awesome! I play at bars, clubs, house parties and even weddings (traditional music). Tenor James Walters is a favorite of West Coast stages, recently making his Musical Theatre debut in the leading role of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables with Tacoma Musical Playhouse to rave reviews from the public and critics alike. Tacoma Weekly declared "The talented cast was superb in their opening performance led by James Walters as Jean Valjean [giving] a magnificent performance... The show is long, but the audience showed with a standing ovation that it was worth every moment." and The Suburban Times added, "James Walters is Jean Valjean. Walters has a very good singing voice, the quality of which is easy to hear and understand... when he sings the fervent prayer, "Bring Him Home," he excels in his part." While Northwest Military found that, "James Walters and John Cooper (Javert) were excellent foils to each other and with John Kelleher (Thenardier) were the strongest male actors.", and the Puyallup Post concluded "My heart succumbed to the memorable voice of [James Walters] as he sang his final song". 

James returned twice more to Tacoma Musical Playhouse this season, in May as the tenor soloist in a Night at the Operetta, and as the Monster and Victor Frankenstein in Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein the Musical in July and August. Of his performance in Young Frankenstein the News Tribune wrote "Later still, Walters, an accomplished operatic tenor, belts out the reprise of “Deep Love” with even more passion." and the Suburban Times declared "Each cast member had honed their character perfectly... James Walters doubles as Dr. Victor Von Frankenstein and the Monster. His singing voice is nothing short of superb – as Victor – as the Monster, his comic timing changes the beauty of his voice to the perfect characterization of the created man." and finally Northwest Military said "James Walters is well-cast as the Monster , with a gorgeous operatic tenor". 

Recent opera credits include singing Tonio in previews of La Fille du Regiment for Seattle Opera Guild, and both Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville, and Tamino in The Magic Flute with Northwest Opera in Schools Etcetera's outreach tours. Of his performances of Elvino in Bellini's La Sonnambula, Bernard Jacobson of MusicWeb International wrote "The most elegant of the soloists was tenor James Walters, who brought agreeably light tone and a nice sense of line to the central role of Elvino." Other roles include Tonio in La Fille du Regiment, Alfred in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, and Basilio & Curzio in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Kitsap Opera, The Lover in Menotti’s Amelia Goes to the Ball with Puget Sound Opera, Agenore in Mozart’s Il Re Pastore with Off-Center Opera, Don Octave in P.D.Q. Bach’s The Stoned Guest with Tacoma Opera, Don Basilio in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen with Opera Pacifica, a tour with N.O.I.S.E. as Hoffmann in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann, appearances with Bellevue Opera in Verdi’s La Traviata, and Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, and this June made his debut as a festival artist of the Astoria Music Festival performing Brighella in Richard Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos, and Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte. 

James also performs frequently in concert and recital. This April he returned to the Olympia Chamber Orchestra where he sang his first Uriel in Haydn's Creation. He has been heard several times in Astoria Oregon’s Clatsop College’s Arts & Ideas concert series performing opera arias and ensembles; including Bill in Barber’s short opera A Hand of Bridge. Other concert performances include L'abate di Chazeuil in Adriana Lecouvreur with Puget Sound Concert Opera, Camille in Lehar’s The Merry Widow with Willamette Concert Opera, the Tenor Soloist in Bach’s Coffee Cantata with Olympia Chamber Orchestra, several performances as the Tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah, and many other concerts and recitals with various local organizations including: the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle, Skagit Opera, Bellevue Opera, Olympia Symphony, Kitsap Opera, Puget Sound Opera, Puget Sound Concert Opera, Vocal Arts Northwest, Seattle Civic Opera Association, and the Seattle Musical Arts Society who awarded James with a Helen Crowe Snelling Scholarship from their vocal competition in 2004. In December 2012 James participated in the Magda Oliverio vocal competition at the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale in Saluzzo, Italy, and was advanced to the semi-finals.

Anthony Deshawn Johnson to who we know as independent hip hop artist Jack Rank was born May 2nd, 1986 in Tucson, Arizona and raised in the small city of Ocala, Florida just south of Gainsville, Florida. After graduating from North Marion High School he later attended the historically black college Texas Southern University out of Houston Texas to continue a career on the football field, problems would later rise forcing a transfer for Texas Southern University to Marshall University in Huntington West Virginia. Suffering a knee injury before which is now known as his final season of play forced him to the sideline for good. Returning home with nothing he picked back up where he left off, back to the studio and back to making money the best way he knew how. Being into music since middle school days leading to high school where he recorded his first song. During that time he was under the alias Murk, which was given to him from the streets by when being asked to rap and doing what is known in the street term for "Murking" the beats (meaning rapping very well) after being under a few record labels he took time off to get his life together, a year later, with a little more life experience the artist you know now as Jack Rank Was Born, So many people ask what does it mean or stand for, He derived his stage name (Jack Rank) from life its self. The term Jack Rank is a mind set, a mind set to have in life when you want to accomplish something, meaning never give up on yourself what society wont give you you have to take because nothing in life is free. Put yourself in the mind set of the military when you enter your at the lowest ranking possible you have to work and fight your way to the top to reach success, so in that way of living your have to tell yourself that you cant not loose loosing is not a option at all you have to all these ranking officers ahead of you in order for you to reach the top you have to go thru each ranking officer until you reach that top ranking, so you have to Jack Rank for the greater good of you let no stand in your way of success. Over time dealing with life and lifes problems would cause delays in moving forward in the music industry, After setting down the mic for a few years and as time moved on there came a point in his life when he realize he was at the age that he had to make life better for him and his family. Only making enough money in the streets to keep food on his plate and money in his pocket to just make it he demanded change. He took steps to do better in his life and wanted to make money the legal way so it would last with the ability to grow so he entered the trucking business, with some of the money he had stashed away from his extent in the street life he started his first business at 23 years old which was a trucking business. Lasting for just a little over two years before going under due to financial and personal issues. It never stopped this hustler. Back to the studio, his plan to excel in the music industry was the main focus. Dropping his first CD titled big business with all original music from start to finish. Created a nice buzz down in the state of Florida which lead to the creation of his fix mix tape entitle Dat Ether. Shortly After being called to Atlanta, Ga for a interview with a up and coming magazine company for rising artist and meeting with some important people who could really help his career take off he had to make a choice. Realizing the buzz in florida wasn't expanding the way he plan his next plan was to head to the big city of dreams, Atlanta, Ga.

The Beginning

Born in Lubbock Texas, Chuck Barnes began playing guitar and singing when he was 11 years old, winning a school talent show singing and playing guitar on "You Ain't Nothin' But A Hound Dog" made famous by Elvis.  Playing on the stage in the schools auditorium, in front of the entire student body and all the teacher's, a pretty nerve racking experience for an 11 year old. 
Chuck's Dad and Grandfather taught him his first few guitar chords and he also learned alot from an old guitar chord book his Dad had given him. 
Around this same time a man named Brian Gilmore (Jimmy Dale Gilmore's Father) Taught him some more chords, some strumming styles and ways to put them all together to play a song. Brian Gilmore was one of the finest guitar players Chuck had ever met and he has had a lasting influence on him. 
During the first couple of years after getting his own guitar, Chuck would spend countless hours practicing on his playing and singing  The first song he learned to play was the classic "Down in the Valley" (aka The Birmingham Jail). 
At age 15, he wrote his own first song called "Hell Raisin" sitting at the little kitchen table at the house where he and his Dad lived.
Chuck's first time on a dance hall stage (1980's) was at the "Texas Cafe" in Lubbock, he sat in with Tommy Hancock and the Super Natural Family Band and sang  "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash. Tommy has always been a friend to Chuck and the Band and supported their music in both Lubbock and Austin.


Growing up in Lubbock left no shortage of musical inspiration, with so many great songwriters and performers hailing from the "Hub City". His early musical influences include Buddy Holly (Chuck sang and played guitar on some Saturday's for Buddy's father at a Lubbock barber shop called "Shag & Shear" owned by Jake Goss, while working as a shoe shine boy in the late 70's- early 80's), Mac Davis, The Maines Brothers (1st & 2nd generation), Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Billy joe Shaver, Joe Ely etc...
One night Chuck (as a teenager) and his Dad were at a place called the "Lake Side Club" it was located near the entrance of Buffalo Springs Lake (SE of Lubbock)
Chuck had sat in with "Sonny Maines" of the original Maines Brothers Band, (Sonny was the uncle to the second generation Maines Brothers that features Kenny and Lloyd Maines). When Chuck left the stage he was approached by a lady named Barbara Fisher, she and her husband Tommy Fisher owned the Acuff Steak House in Acuff, Tx. Barbara and Tommy hired Chuck to play at their place on the weekends. It was Chuck's first paying gig. He got paid $25 plus tips and a nice steak dinner, quite a deal for a young start-up singer/songwriter.

Chuck was in the U.S. Army's 82d Airborne Division and he played and sat in with different bands when he was able to. Chuck had arranged a deal where he was going to sit in with a local band that was to be the opening act for a "John Anderson" concert in Fayetteville, N.C. but Chuck's unit was called away for a military deployment and he missed the opportunity.
On one occasion he booked a gig in a country bar outside of Ft. Bragg, N.C. and the only back up band that could be found was of a heavy metal persuasion.
It made for an interesting evening to say the least.  Chuck would often practice his guitar in the stairwell of his Army barracks. It had great acoustics's and echo.

The Lubbock Music

After Military service, Chuck returned to Lubbock, Tx and was hired on as singer and guitar player for the "Country Rose Band", They played and toured around north and west Texas and eastern New Mexico, it was a great learning experience. Then in 1991 he formed "Chuck Barnes & the Genuine Texan Band", featuring players like Matthew Mclarty, Brent Jobe, Chuck McClure Sr., Cliff Dillard, Joel Searcy, Bob Biggs and others through the years. The Band traveled and played  all over Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and beyond. The Band also played a whole lot of Fraternity and Sorority parties (Texas Tech is in Lubbock) 
Some of Chuck's fondest memories are pickin' and singin' out at the Burk Brothers farm northwest of Lubbock. There were always talented and entertaining people hanging out at the farm. 
Chuck teamed up with Texas Tech Professor "Johnny Hughes" also a songwriter and recorded several of Johnny's songs. One of these songs "Santa Fe" co-written by Johnny and Chuck was included in the CD "Another Boy From Lubbock".
While in Lubbock Chuck was also fortunate enough to have Lloyd Maines play on and produce several demo songs. It doesn't get any better than "Lloyd Maines" and that's a fact. Chuck also made several appearances on the "Maines Brothers" West Texas Music Hour, hosted by Lloyd and Kenny Maines and broadcast on KLLL FM.


The Austin Music

He moved to Austin, Texas in August 1994 and formed the "Chuck Barnes Band". One night shortly after arriving in Austin, Chuck was at a bar on Sixth street called "Babes". "Johnny Hughes" from Lubbock had arranged for Chuck to meet up with his friend TJ "Tiny" McFarland, (TJ was once the drummer for the Joe Ely Band)
TJ and Chuck talked awhile and he was able to get Chuck up to sit in with the band that was playing that night. The band was "Don Walser", what a treat. After Chuck got down from the stage, a man introduced himself as JC George, Bass player. They talked a while and JC knew a drummer named "Woz" (Cephas Wozencraft). To keep it short and sweet, this was the beginning of the "Chuck Barnes Band" in Austin. 
After about a year of playing together, " Tommy X Hancock" got Chuck and the Band an audition with James White at The Broken Spoke. It went well and The Band ended up playing 1-2 times a month at the Spoke for about 5 years. Those were great times. 
On a trip to Nashville, the band stopped at a Road House Bar near Hermitage, Tn.  The bar did not have a band that night, so we asked if we could play. We played late in to the night to a small but very enthusiastic crowd. An impromptu evening, but a great time and fond memory. On that same trip Chuck and the Band were invited over to "Cowboy Jack Clements" house. They had a good visit and Jack told Chuck he liked the songs he had been writing. Coming from Jack, that meant something to Chuck and the Band.
The band has always been blessed with exceptional players through the years consisting of folks like Cephas Wozencraft and Dennis Vanderhoof on Drums, 
JC George and Larry Dobbs on Bass Guitar, Craig Shroer, Lars Albrecht, Michael Landscoot and Pete Mitchell on Lead Guitar, Jim Justice on Fiddle,
Lost John Casner on Keyboard, Bobby Snell, Herb Steiner on Pedal Steel and Dobro Guitar. Chuck considers these guy's as friends for life.  
Over the years the Austin Band has played all over Texas, as far out as Colorado and everywhere in between.

Chuck has shared the stage with a variety of artist's including Freddie Powers, Kitty Wells, Chris Wall, Texana Dames, Tommy X Hancock, Jesse Taylor, Harold Aiken, Pat Green, Cary Swinney, RC Banks, Lloyd Maines, Ponty Bone, the Texas Belaires,  Larry Gatlin, Dale Watson and many others. 
He also performed at the CBS' Cotton Club Revival in Lubbock (1993). 


He has had numerous appearances on the "Maines Brothers" West Texas Music Hour, hosted by Lloyd and Kenny Maines and the Lubbock Roots Music Program, featuring Texas songwriters, in Lubbock, Texas hosted by Lannie Fiel, invited along with Cary Swinney, Kent Mings, and Robin Griffin. Chuck and the band performed monthly for 5 years at the world famous "Broken Spoke", Austin's definitive country music venue. He has had several appearances on local and cable television and a live performance on the Austin Music Network's local licks program, hosted by "Rob Mahoney" which produced a music video. Chuck and the band have also been mentioned numerous times in the Austin American-Statesman "best bets" section.

Chuck has also performed live on "KVET's" (98.1 FM in Austin) morning show, the top-rated morning show in Texas hosted by "Sammy Allred" & "Bob Cole" And on KFAN (107.9 FM in Fredericksburg) and several other radio programs.

Currently Chuck has been sporadically performing solo and duo songwriter shows and writing new material for a future recording project. Also practicing with his Daughter "Kassidy Barnes" in preparation for some Father Daughter shows.

MY SHITTY BIO: When he's not out raising tiger cubs in Siberia or greeting people as they walk in to Walmart "Chris the Junglist" aka "CTJ" is happily a full time "El Borracho", Part-time cucumber farmer, half man, half 1985 Toyota Corolla that runs purely off of Sriracha. Known for his shoddy self portrait photo-shops on face-crack (Facebook). CTJ's real focus in the music industry is producing top 40 elevator remixes in mini malls across america and aims to start an empire for world domination in doing so. He will work for fish tacos, stale bread, and prosthetic limbs for his own private collection. CTJ also collects out dated calendar refrigerator magnets on the side to enhance his street credit amongst his less then creditable peers but he'll never admit it. When it comes to his origins, It started back when Noah built the ark, he was the main attraction on the boat with his teaching all jungle animals how to Jazzerise hence the name "Junglist". Also accredited for playing an opening djset for Shakespeare himself at a rave in a small Jerusalem brothel and the debate goes on and on til this day about CTJ being older then dirt itself. Known for never giving a sucker an even break, he has built his legacy on leaving the toilet seats up in public restrooms just to see the "crowd reactions". One might say CTJ has many accomplishments including being the first to drink a whole jar of Grape jelly through a coffee stir straw as well as snorting 6 packets of Theraflu on any given day and living to tell the tale. Since his short vacation in a Nicaraguan prison his discography hits the charts with the production of his his full length album "Mating call of the Rhinos" using nothing but soup spoons. Author of "McDonald's is now finally serving white meat" CTJ has also made his way to the top by accepting the office of president of the Rhode Island Book club association just so he someday claim he was someone worth value. Be on the look out for this west coast veteran, he might surprise you with a magic trick of pulling a unicorn out of a old snakeskin boot!

Recently returned to using old vinyls, departed from the “movida” to manifest impatience with business today, by age and deep disagreements with the culture "no enjoy without drugs" performs during a few selected pre dinner parties, preferring to concentrate on productions [his or other].

Hello, I'm Iven.

I write and compose a wide variety of music and songs. Presently I'm working on children's songs in Danish and hope to soon upload the results here. I have also recently collaborated with Sofie Guillois Larsen producing English lyrics for a couple of her songs.

I write and compose everything from jazz to military tunes and have written for musicals, most recently a production of "A Christmas Carol". When not producing commissioned works, my chosen genre is indie-pop/rock, although I also dabble in a spot of country and folk music.

It's nice to finally join up here and I look forward to becoming an active member of the Soundcloud crowd.
