Established in 2012 and broadcasting out of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Bird Attack Punk Rock Radio was founded by Garrett Wadford based on an absolute unwavering love for punk rock - Fast, Loud, Shredding, Melodic, Skate punk to be exact. "I consider the genre I love to be more of an underground group of bands that deserve to get more exposure. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Pennywise, Lagwagon, Strung Out (and other similar bands) with a passion, but the new music that really gets me fired up as of late, has a hint of metal to it, which brings an extra level of AMP! to the table."

"I have always loved performing in some way shape or form, whether it has been on stage playing or behind the mic, focused on the voice only approach, so I decided to bring the music I was passionate about to the airwaves or internet-waves, as it has now morphed to a podcast." 

We are bringing new school punk mixed with the best older punk from as far back as 15 years, mixing it up with roughly 20 songs, throwing in a prank call, adding a dash of comedy and slamming the door shut with an insane interview from some of the best names in punk rock! These interviews range from different members of bands from across the spectrum; Pennywise to Lagwagon, Belvedere to Forus, Dutch Nuggets to Counterpunch. We are really turning up the quality this year.

"Sonic Electronic Terrorism for the Mentally Disturbed" ™

My listeners are presented with heavy, beat-driven, dark ambient dub. I've been listening to heavy music in one form or another for as long as I can remember. My older brother turned me on to Kiss, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, etc. when I was about three years old. At the age of twelve, I got my first guitar & started the death metal band Apostasy a few years later. We recorded a well-received cassette & played several live shows with friends' bands like Soilent Green, Flesh Parade, Paralysis, & Mule Skinner. Apostasy eventually broke up, but my love of music has never faded. I still play & write on guitar, but I've always loved the darker side of electronic music, too. The heavy dub of acts such as Scorn & Coil persistently intrigued me, & I found the sounds & visuals of experimental industrial artists (SPK, Swans, Dissecting Table, Nocturnal Emissions, etc.) to be awe-inspiring. So, in late February of 2013, I decided to start something of my own: Mind of God. All of you are invited to come along on this ride with me; you just might enjoy it. I know I do.

Fresh out of the fires from one of Metal's finest factories, the creative musician's metropolis that is Stockholm, hails Deathember; A swirling inferno of punch-packed, rancid and almost serenely pure metal cleansed from most prefixes.

Starting as nothing but a sallow seed, shuffed aside with rough force to grow depraved of sunlight in a wayward rehearsal space underneath a towering chimney, founder Elias Ryen-Rafstedt and guitarist Staffan Birkedal started to spend larger and larger amounts of their lives perching their band together with the same set of mind that most great artists pursue: the idea of the band playing just the kind of metal they would like to hear, a kind that not yet existed, but - concerning their hometown's vast quantity of talented musicians - was well within reach.

As the band abhored the name Deathember, and finalized their first lineup in 2010 with guitarist Rikard Bonander, Bassist Pontus Wicklander and vocalist Tobias Sandin, the answer as to what "Deathember" was and how it sounded like started to feel within reach. As they quickly gathered a notable reputation in the town's underground metal scene, their communal taste finally morphed together into the sound resulting in the 2011 EP "A Thousand Flatlines" - hooky and catchy mid-tempo groove metal, occasionally slowing down into menacing and gloomy when not speeding up into hysterical mayhem, picking influences from Strapping Young Lad, SikTh, Daath, Gojira, Protest The Hero and Soilwork. With Tobias departure in 2012, followed up by the newest member Simon Tarasewicz, the band made no hesitation but to dive into the studio, signing to Violent Groove Music Group and ascending into the new year 2013 with one, strong and inevitable goal: show the world what GROOVE is.

The result is "Going Postal"; it takes the heritage from "Flatlines" and updates it heavily, giving more space to direct to-the point songwriting, attitudous groove and foreboding atmosphere. With "Going Postal" Deathember clearly defines their sound. It's not lesser or more than what other bands may bring to the table - but it's different. Deathember continues to stroll down a path of brutality few bands have trodded, and with "Going Postal" they're stating their sound, their message, to the world.
And the world shall listen.

Crusher is a rap / nu metal artist whose music is predominantly focused around dark storytelling and world-building within the music itself.

The music has two general directions, the first surrounding the lore and story of the Immortal, from the central perspective of a man who was destroyed in life only to then find himself merged with an immortal entity, inheriting its memories, and its power.
The second surrounding the man himself and the real world pains and passions he's experienced, and seeing through his eyes what he sees and has seen throughout his life, often on a very guttural level.

As an artist Crusher the Immortal is the originator of his own subgenre: Undead Hip Hop. This genre blends together all that makes the music what it is, as a mixture of rap and nu metal with tones and expression akin to horrorcore's dark and foreboding atmosphere.

"I want my music to feel like reading a book, or watching a horror movie. To create entirely separate worlds with my words that people can get lost in while also creating music worth hearing."

Nepenthe is a melodic death metal outfit from southern Ontario which incorporates elements from a wide variety of styles both within and outside of the metal genre. Nepenthe’s interpretation of melodic death metal is unique while maintaining an element of familiarity, providing a fresh perspective that is bound to appeal to those previously acquainted with the genre, as well as those who are brand new to the concept.

Founded by guitarist Ryan D. Meloche, vocalist Caleb Bergen, and vocalist Terry White - Nepenthe was realized in an attempt to take their musical endeavors into their own hands and create a band which appeals to their shared influences, as well as professional aspirations. 

Shortly after Nepenthe’s conception, the musical trio was joined by drummer Danny Barker and guitarist Mat Lemmon. The project has since witnessed a significant number of lineup changes and alterations; including Terry White’s departure, Mat Lemmon’s switch from guitar to bass, and the eventual inclusion of Toronto-based guitarist Miguel Restrepo.

The chemistry between each member plays a role in the efficiency of the project, as everyone is tied by a list of common musical influences. All while bringing their own unique influences to the table in a manner which diversifies and complements the overall style of the project. All in all, Nepenthe is a collaborative effort between five like-minded musicians with a passion for the style they play and the intention to push the project as far as they are capable.

Nepenthe have been progressing at a rapid rate, and are sure to leave a lasting impression on the local music scene, and eventually the metal scene as a whole. Surely a band worth keeping an eye on considering their passion and unique style, as well as their professional motivation and aspirations.

Simply put, Nepenthe is a band conceived to succeed.
