Shemira King better known as “Dj Miraa Kayy” is a young female disc jockey from Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in Brooklyn with Caribbean roots (Guyanese) essentially prepared her for who she is today. Shemira comes from a long line of a musical background, playing the piano, guitar, trumpet and drums, later finding her passion as a Dj. Inspired by many but pays homage to her Uncle, Dj Perry. Perry influenced Ms. King in a musical light, not only as a Dj but an MC as well. He had a way of displaying his funny, warm hearted spirit through his music in a professional way. Shemira shortly knew she wanted to display her own character to a more diverse crowd. Any age, gender, culture, race or disability, Shemira continues to take on the task. Guest who book Dj Miraa Kayy can expect an eventful experience from start to end as she works to create a musical atmosphere and takes full control of the crowd by playing a versatile set. Shemira’s goal as a Dj is to continue to connect with other Dj’s & perform internationally.
