Yahkeem Ben Israel is a Cultural Hip Hop artist, South African Hip Hop Award winner 2013 an activist born and raised in the streets of Port Elizabeth. He is a last born of a family of three. Growing up he had no exceptional abilities that could set him apart from typical kids in the township in fact he mastered none of these ghetto games that could exalt one to a status of a hero in the hood. This disadvantage in later years would prove an advantage as he spent most of his life creating images in his head, reading and cultivating his insight.
It was very late in his adult life that Yahkeem started taking music serious and perusing it as a career. He started rapping with one of Eastern Cape most celebrated rap Trio Khululekani; this group opened a lot of doors not only for the group members but for the entire Eastern Cape Hip Hop. Amongst their achievements is releasing a self- titled EP, being the first rap group to be interviewed and their music aired in Mhlobo Wenene FM breakfast show which was the hosted by Sizwe Slyso Saliso, and toured with Mhlobo Wenene on woman’s month anti women abuse campaign in The Eastern Cape College among other achievements. Due to individual explorations the group had to dissolve this vacuum set a platform for The Mastabilda as he is affectionately known to his supporters to explore music as a soloist.
It was in 2009 that his debut album was released entitled The Spirit Level this 14 track album was distributed for free digitally and by hand and can still be downloaded at http://www.reverbnation.com/TheMastabilda . The spirit level although recorded in a rudimental bedroom set up shook South Africa in a unique way and launched him as a national player in the industry. It was launched on Jaivah Mzantsi hosted by Luckeez Mfowethu at Mhlobo Wenene FM One hour of performances, interviews and interactions with the listeners. Over 200 CD’s were distributed nationally and over 100 downloads were captured on sendspace. This album reached abroad getting play listed in UK and Israel respectively. It was also reviewed on Hype magazine, a review that caused traffic on social networks.

Concrete Thought 2013
In 2010 he released The One Who Builds Ep which saw him tour around the Eastern Cape, Joburg, and Cape Town Representing in most respectable Hip Hop venues. The project was a teaser for the much anticipated Concrete Thought album that is dedicated to one of Eastern Cape’s stalwarts Livingstone Mqotsi an activist from East London. This 20 track album is conceptual and highly political. It is designed to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable with very provocative content. The production is world class featuring national independent artists, and producers. Before even the album drop the first single was enjoying prime time spins on Mhlobo Wenene FM. Apart from being a rapper Yahkeem is the brains behind the grassroots arts festival, a festival that celebrates and exhibits raw street arts. He also champions the books for life an initiative geared to provide reading material for inmates. Yahkeem also does marketing and event coordination when he is not holding workshops artists and engaging community on the power and role of music as an agent for change.

Usiba Noncwadi (The pen and literature) is a four piece Organic Soul/Hip-Hop, self-taught musician band from Motherwell, Port Elizabeth. It was formed September 2005. The band members are Ohayv – vocals piano, Hodiel
– acoustic, recitals & bass, Seemkhai- Acoustic, vocals & Yahav – drums.

Thato Tempo Beatz Molefe is a  music producer, recording, mixing & mastering engineer from Vaal, Vereeniging. He owns a music production company called We Make Music, that comprises of music artists, writers, singers, producers and beat makers all composing and recording their own music. Tempo Beatz has produced for numerous artists in and around Swaziland, Cameroun, Johannesburg + Vaal (South Africa) and Zambia, namely Manyofonyofo, Mothipa, Benson n Hedges, Dig It Deep, X Rated, Mr Beef, Principle, Zeeko, Size Killa, Nongoloza, Tuff Swazi, C Trix, Mighty Moose, Projektah, Da South Pole, Jhey Dot and many more. 12 albums have been released to date under Tempo Beatz’s We Make Music stable between 2011 and 2013 whereby all recordings and production where done by Tempo Beatz. 

Pho’netiQ aka Pharoah Pho' (real name Motau Tshepo Ngoasheng) is a young cohesive spiritual
revolutionary underground Hip Hop MC and a Hip Hop activist from Polokwane, Limpopo Province. His
style is of complex lyrics, complex delivery, internal and multisyllabic rhyme schemes that challenge the
listener’s intelligence. He started writing raps early 2008 as a crew member of Da Carnivores alongside Ryder; better known
as Da Capo, who is currently a house DJ/Producer and Brian better known as Brinco. 

Pho'netiQ was
only interested in higher education when he moved to the Vaal in the Gauteng Province in 2009.
Performing at local poetry sessions and various hip hop shows this started to build his street credibility.
With his passion and desire for hip hop this young man managed to get his skills recognized by most and
as time passed DisMental Thee Axe'ample of One-2 noticed the boys’ potential and introduced him to
Dig It Deep Production.

Performing around the country, Pho'netiQ got himself sharing stages with South Africa’s most
respected artists such as Last Days Fam, Golden Shovel of Optical Illusion, Beat Oven, Cryogenic,
Zakwe, Zeeko, One-2, Mothipa, Liquid KZN, Ntja Pedi, A_Huge_Impakt, Baleloko and more. He
also had an honor of getting a spot to share the same stage with an international rap icon Copywrite of
MHZ from Columbus, Ohio alongside Naked eYe on the 3rd December 2011, the same day as the
release of his first project titled Beginning of a New Era (Street Soul UnMixtape) consisting of 17
tracks

He later formed a clique with his close friend Antidote and together they call themselves A&P (Antidote
& Pho'netiQ) and they are releasing a Free EP end of October 2012 which will be titled "True School
Preservation" and will serve as a prelude to the official EP of this dynamic duo.
Pho'netQ is currently working on his 2nd mixtape "Let It Be Known (The Era Has Begun Mixtape)"
coming out December 2012 which is a follow up to Beginning of a New Era and also a prelude of his
official EP to be titled “A Young Man With an Old Soul” dropping next year along with the Dig It Deep
collaborative debut album (Miner's Gold). Expect more soul, passion, hunger, growth in the music, lyrics
and delivery.
