Ferrari Flex

This piece is dedicated to a dear friend, Ash Finnigan 

Originally composed as a piano trio tune as part of a greater work in March of 2020, I arranged this for big band in September of 2021.

“Fleeing the Nest(ico)” is the third and final movement of Coleman Hovey’s “Tribute Suite.” This movement was attributed to Sammy Nestico and his tune “Night Flight.”

The Kinetic Four is a quartet based out of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, coached by Professor Jeffrey W. Holmes. 

Students Coleman Hovey, Zandra Azoulay (sophmores) and Matt Padula (junior) all music majors, study Jazz and African-American music, led by program director Jeffrey Holmes. Liam Keaney, junior is a math major with a music minor. This is their first experience with recording and mixing. 

Despite the challenges and hardships of the semester, the four came together to create some awesome music during such an unusual school year.
