Your Host Erik Abel:

Erik Abel has established himself as a jack of all trades in the music business.  A former music producer, artist, and DJ, Abel is currently a booking agent with The Adler Music Group and Owner of Focused Noise.  As an agent, Abel has organized tours and booked shows for Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Ghostface Killah, Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, Soulja Boy, The Cool Kids, Warren G, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Slum Village, M.O.P., Creed Bratton from The Office, Rapper Big Pooh, Dru Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, Cam'ron, Method Man and Redman, Blackstreet, and more.  Additionally, he co-founded the J Dilla Weekend Festival in Miami in 2015.  

As a producer, Abel has worked with Powerade, KRS-One, Talib Kweli, Rob Swift, Abstract Rude, Falken Tires, and Starter Brand, and his production has appeared on NBC, MTV, and ESPN.  Abel was also the featured DJ at events for Brand Jordan, Major League Baseball, VTech, Getty Images, and a number of other lifestyle brands. He spun at the 2013 MLB All Star Game, 2010 Rose Bowl, 2011 BCS National Championship, and has shared stages with Macklemore, The Roots, Mos Def, Common, Wiz Khalifa, LMFAO, Method Man and Redman, N.E.R.D., and more. Abel (known as Gen.Erik) was also previously the resident DJ for super producer !llmind's BLAP on the Radio show.

Abel decided to start The Focused Noise show in order to inspire others and share valuable resources, information, and knowledge from some of the industry’s leading managers, agents, journalists, artists, and other experts.

Hi guys. The band met in a London bar. We mainly tear around the city in ubers that are usually too small for our equipment to play shows that are usually too loud for any clear detection of Rob's vocals. Before these shows we often grab a falafel, have a stab at amusing conversation and, when that fails, move onto existential philosophy, animal rights and red wine. En route back to the venue we vape, smoke and compare egos. Career highlights include BBC Radio coverage and gigs for the Joe Strummer Foundation for New Music. Gary Crowley, a BBC DJ, said we were 'the band he had been waiting for', which was sweet of him. We fuse alt. rock with violins, trumpets, sizzling guitars, dark poetic lyrics and driving drums, though there's the odd slow dark number. We hope you enjoy our sounds. An versatile EDM Dj/Producer from New York City. Indiana James is always prepared with a wide ranging variety of different genres of music for all types of situations. However, his favorites are electro house and progressive house. He placed 6th in the worldwide Beatport remix competition for his very first remix, something he didn't think he would achieve so quickly in his production career. The world of gaming isn’t a niche anymore; its giving rise to its own artists in numerous creative fields. John “AnalogStik” Montoya has emerged as an artist uniquely suited to matching both visual and interactive media with sound that draws audiences deeper into their stories-- providing atmosphere and emotional energy that otherwise would not be there.

John’s involvement with the entertainment industry began early; after years contributing to fan-made projects online, he received his first in-game credit with an Xbox Live Indie Game titled Chronoblast during his freshman year of high school. Before the age of 18 John signed his first publishing deal with Jingle Punks, a music publisher that has licensed his music in shows for Netflix, MTV, FOX Sports, and Showtime.

John lead his local IGDA (International Game Developers Association) chapter and mentored students at Texas A&M University. Post-IGDA, he founded the Surviving Indie Organization, an online resource hub that creates and curates content specifically for independent game developers and students who are passionate about video game development. He currently tours the nation hosting panels and discussions about topics related to indie game development and the entertainment industry as a whole.

John is an avid advocate for fair wages and treatment towards voice over professionals, which is why he became a signatory for SAG-AFTRA® in March 2016. He hopes to help the video game industry move forward by providing voice over casting services that includes general entertainment industry-standard rates and a streamlined development pipeline that makes it easier for developers to include veteran talent in their video games. With the help of his friends and colleagues, John has assembled an elite team of both union and non-union talent that have credits in games developed by Nintendo, SEGA, ATLUS, and EA. His most notable client to date is Rovio, the developer of the mobile game Angry Birds. He is always looking to connect with game developers and cast voice over for video games.

For Armon Jay’s third and latest solo effort, aptly titled The Dark Side of Happiness, the burgeoning auteur took matters into his own hands, writing, recording, arranging, engineering and producing every song, and playing virtually every instrument at his home studio in Franklin, TN.
On his new album, Armon has turned his crisis of faith – all that anxiety, frustration, neuroses, self-doubt and compulsive behavior – into art, yet another step on his ongoing artistic journey. The Dark Side of Happiness isn’t just personal but offers an intimate glimpse into Armon’s own inner conflict, a quiet record with subtle dynamics, but emotionally raw.

Armon spent nearly 14 hours a day for two months recording the album, barely getting any sleep. “As heavy lyrically as the album is, it was the most fun I’ve ever had making music,” he insists. “I woke up every day with a feeling of purpose which felt right. It felt good.”
Working with mixer Zach Hanson from Justin Vernon’s April Base studio outside of Eau Claire, WI, where Bon Iver albums are made, proved to play a major role in how it turned out after Armon recorded “in the box,” using UAD interface and plugins. “I credit Zach with bringing that analog warmth to the album,” says Armon, adding kudos for Jeremy Larson, who recorded and arranged the strings for three tracks (“Lighthouse,” “Break the Habit” and the title song) and Abby Gundersen, responsible for the violins on “Stay Grounded.”
The last two years have been the most successful yet for Armon Jay’s ascendant musical career. As a member of Chris Carrabba’s Dashboard Confessional, he toured and recorded with the band on its first studio album in nine years. Songs from his first two solo albums earned a number of song placements, including “Edge of the Dark” (from 2013’s Everything’s Different, Nothing’s Changed), which garnered syncs in Criminal Minds, So You Think You Can Dance and Salvation, while “Better Off Without” (from 2015’s Del Rio) ended up in 13 Reasons Why, Nashville, Heartbeat and Set It Up, among others.

"DJ Axel F." alias Axel Kneschke is born in Frankfurt am Main and in Ebern (Germany) grown up. His musical career already began beginning of the 80th.

He founded the schoolband "KIZZOU" with 3 other guys.

In 1986 Axel won a DJ's younger generation competition in Discotheque Roxie at that time in Hassfurt (Germany). With an education as a Lightjockey and as a Discjockey he collected valuable information and experiences.

To the pseudonym "DJ Axel F." he came by the title song to the soundtrack "Beverly Hill's cop" (leading role Eddie Murphy alias Axel Foley) which was composed by Harold Faltermeyer and was produced.

The song called "Axel F." and at that time was Axel's opening song (Intro) in the greeting of his guests in the disco. Because on the Vinyl-Promo-Maxi a big sticker with Axel F. was to be seen, Axel put this Maxi always accidentally in front of the mixer with it everybody could see. One day the guests started calling Axel as Axel F. or DJ Axel F. and responding. This nickname or DJ's name circulated fast and Axel this pseudonym never again agreed away.

"DJ AXEL F." is sometimes crazy but not the Crazy Frog.

He has performed in many clubs in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain. Many famous clubs and also at festivals. Axel has tried out in the course of his long DeeJay career also as a DJ everything: From the Techno event up to club disco events. He inspired his audience with good club disco sound over and over again.

In the 90th he made to himself as a House-Trance-Techno-DJ a name and deviated since then seldom from this style. His put on-style makes him so particularly. He has to generate the talent definite moods with the music. His kind to mixes and his breaks, the choice of the titles make him unique. Also his voice and his presentations / animations are something quite special.

Even if Axel was on the move successfully as a DJ to compose his intensive passion, he never surrendered. Meanwhile more than 300 ready tracks have originated as well as many Remixes.

His pseudonym and his about from positive call hurry ahead of him very far.
