Guest House

"Vermont" - 2020

Vermont encourages a free-spirited, wanderlust in the listener while telling a reflective story of what could have been. Frontman, Zach Shomaker, depicts a trying time of near loss in a relationship that was to become his most cherished relationship. While the song was written on an acoustic guitar in Shomaker's home studio, the band brought the song to life with big guitars and a blend of synthetic and organic instrumentation. Although the song is largely inspired by landscapes and memories of a small town in New Mexico, the name Vermont was birthed and caught on with fans at live shows long before it was recorded in studio.
