the band "ryo sketch" started as "e-herd" in spring 2009. for this project, one song was pitched down to 5 bpm (duration: 1 h, 20 min) and used as fundament for live-sessions, which were basically improvised. the current name "ryo sketch" refers to the method of creating music: the band is not writing songs or working on a product as a final output. ryo constantly comes up with themes or structural motives. beats, bassguitar, synth, clicks&pops and other glitchy stuff are then recorded or programmed/played live, looped, modified, looped, modified, reversed, looped, recorded again, looped again, reversed, modified, and then looped. Somethimes, those sessions are recorded. And then looped in our music players.
