Loïcc - Scorpion

The second release for Atomic Alert sees False Persona delivering his hard-hitting, explosive electro sound. Although a fresh face, the 21 year old Bournemouth-based producer has been self taught music production and DJing since the age of 13, and after spending years learning how to make different styles of music under a multitude of aliases, his sound as an artist definitely serves as a hybrid of genres.

On the title track Unknown Variable, he combines extra-terrestrial mutating synths and ghostlike pads with an insanely infectious bass line. Similarly, Hive Mind is a deep space club roller constantly buzzing its way through your mind.

The introduction of Brighter Days and By My Side is False Persona's own form of alchemy; reconstructing his usual element of club-ready electro with an expansive sonic landscape of subsonic pressure waves and euphoric pads layered with other-worldly vocal samples and magical glitchy percussion. A nuclear remix of Brighter Days cooked up by Dexorcist, one of the most prominent icons of electro and a dreamy rework of By My Side, Atomic Alert's Nite Fleit presses the button on this diverse weapon of an EP.

Active in electronic music since 1997. His journey with techno began at the Techno Dance Mission event in Szczecin’s WDS. Shortly after, he became a resident DJ at the Thursday techno parties in the club Oszołom. He played at underground, sometimes illegal events – in an old factory in Gryfino, at the 12 groszy club in Stargard, at Lokomotywa, at the Chojna airfield – presenting uncompromising minimal techno and live acts as part of the duo Phonic Dept. He was also a regular guest on the radio show Cyber noc, hosted by Robert “Siwy” Nowak.

Currently, he creates and performs live using Roland MC-707 grooveboxes. His sound is energetic groove techno infused with elements of funk, tribal, and even house, evoking the spirit of techno’s golden era at the turn of the millennium. His live sets often feature original remixes of popular tracks. Together with DJ Kjar, he promotes the dub techno genre in Szczecin through the Dub echoes series (Szafa, Hala Odra Garden, Odra Riverside Boulevard) and various shades of house as part of the Warm signal series (Kuter.szczecin.pl, the ship Ładoga, Moxy Hotel). Finalist of the European competition for vocalists and music producers Tour Music Fest 2024 in San Marino.

His tracks have been released on the Spanish label SURAW Records, the Italian Hardonymus Records, the French SUMMT, Aesthetics Records, and the dub techno-focused Dublucid. He has also recorded podcasts for Lucid, The Error, MWTG.

He has performed live in Szczecin’s clubs After Ego, Szafa, and Hala Odra with crews such as Neuroshocked, The Error, The Underground, Salty Pleasure, Tribalism Soundsystem, as well as at Narada w nowiu in Lipiany, during the Piknik nad Odrą festival at Wały Chrobrego, in Berlin with Heaven label, and at Dom Technika in Poznań. He is the initiator and co-organizer (together with 888 collective) of TechNOC events at Szczecin’s Dziewoklicz and Polana Sportowa.
