Non-Human Intelligence is Jamie Benterman, a vinyl collector & DJ from the UK. Jamie’s musical journey began in Brighton in the late 80’s playing guitar with bands in the UK/HC Punk scene. In the early 90’s, he fell in love with the sounds of Hip Hop, Electro & Detroit Techno. He began crafting his DJ skills & moved to London in the mid 90’s, holding a long-running weekly residency in London’s East End. Now based in Sydney, Australia, Jamie continues to DJ & record mix-tapes under the name Non-Human Intelligence, concentrating on his passion for Electro & Techno beats.

Just sneaking in at the end of the month, the Gated pod is back and this time we're excited to have with us Lex G for a guest mix.

Lex is multi-genre DJ from London and runs the independent label/platform Gunfinger Food, aimed at advocating underground vinyl culture.

This mix is filled mainly with electro, techno and breaks. Something to get you moving.

Messages From The Deep Vol. II - DJ Mix (Electro/IDM/Techno)

@ldyosc is a musician and computer/electronics engineer, who was born in Mexico and grew up on the border in Laredo, Texas. Her vinyl discography began in 2018 with an EP on The Bunker New York. In 2019, an LP on Swedish label Kontra-Musik. The following EP in 2021 was on SF label Squirrels on Film. In 2022, her track “Suave Duro” was released on a VA on Prague’s LTE Records. Over the years she has also released music digitally and on tape. LDY OSC uses synthesis, rhythm & voice to conjure layered compositions that draw from techno, electro, & underground synth-wave.

Jamie B is a record collector & DJ from the UK residing in Sydney, Australia. He has been collecting vinyl for over 3 decades with an eclectic range of influences including Punk, Dub, Hip Hop, Electro, Disco, House, Techno & everything in between.

In the early 90’s, Jamie fell in love with the sounds of Electro, UK Bleep & Bass & Detroit Techno. Inspired by DJ's such as Dave Clarke, Andrew Weatherall, Laurent Garnier & Jeff Mills, he began crafting his skills & playing gigs around London. Today his style still favours Electro & Techno sounds, but with a strong focus on mixing things up & dropping curveballs to keep the dancefloor on its toes.
 
Jamie is a member of Got Music, a convergence of DJs & artists hosting regular events in Sydney exploring the deeper pockets of electronic music.
Alongside fellow crate digger Raffi Irie Lovechild, Jamie also hosts Soka Loka Moki, a monthly night of eclectic dance sounds.

All DJ mixes are recorded live using 2X Technics 1200's & a Xone: 23 mixer.
