LOMISSION is back from the digital abyss and has dug up some lost gems of lockdown madness. assembled in the onerous months of the year 2020, these musical pieces bespeak the restlessness of fast-paced genre hopping - admittedly - within the inimitable realms of lomission's sonic cosmos. 

demons of funkiness have possessed our beloved lomission baddis and find their voice in stuttering breaks, squeaking synths staccatos, or barking guitars. of course, catchy basslines, driving guitars, smashing rhythms, and lulling chords are not an omission. could this be jazz? doubt it, it's just LOMISSION.

“Born and raised in Russia (consider donating and engaging with @spilka, stop the invasion of Ukraine!), I moved to Brooklyn 4 years ago to study political theory on the intersections of gender, sexuality, race, and class. Now I’m fusing the knowledge and experience of struggling against oppressive systems with DJing, writing, and photography in the hope of spreading empowerment, liberation, and love.

This mix has been inspired by oceans and bodies. In their vastness and unruliness, oceans are still considered enclosed and separate bodies of water, the likely sources of life on this planet. The bottoms of the oceans are an eternal reminder about the violence of colonisation, slavery, displacement, and people who have been suffering from them. Bodies, human bodies not being an exception, live as organized, but chaotic flows experiencing powerful waves of desire and building continuity in a world plagued with separation. Opening with Drexciya who kindled my passion for electronic music, I dive into a swirling and energetic, sometimes dark and sexy, sometimes bright and shiny genre-bending blend of music leaning toward techno, hardcore and breaks. Hope this borderless soundscape will help to heal, integrate, and recharge in our own unique struggles.”

Dreamtone Reflections is a journey inward and outward at once — born from the shimmering resonance of Tibetan singing bowls, woven with electric guitar, bass, drums, and organ. The tones open a path like stepping stones across water, leading into dreamscapes where sound becomes light, and light becomes reflection. This piece is both meditation and motion: a groove-driven passage into transcendence, carried on waves of harmony and rhythm. Main guitar part played on the Fender Stratocaster. E-bow parts played on the Gibson Les Paul.
