The Mean Reds And The Deep Blues

Just me and a couple of friends writing, recording, and collaborating on music, or other projects in the arts. And, when possible, working creatively towards a common cause or charity,

We call our collective group of musicians, artists, writers, producers, photographers, mask makers, puppeteers, aerialists, and poets the Hallelujah Sunshine Cult, and for this project I’m the designated cult leader, lol. Dano Capristo on drums for tons of stuff, as well as handling most of the videography, and my chief collaborator. Some additional drum and percussionists appearing in the HSC  include Ian Engelsman, Cory West, and Pete Romano. Other guitars include Michael Pieretti, Addison Elliot, Travis Forencich, Dylan Welsh, Erik Rex, Paul Billbrough, Joe Adams, Anthony Medici, Ty Durbrow, and probably other peeps I’m forgetting. Additional vocals include Gordon Glover, Jamie Iwata, Michael Pieretti, Erik Rex, Joe Chiusano, Joey Annaruma, and Elsie Black.

Collaborating with these people, albeit remotely for the vast majority of stuff, was a life saver for me during the pandemic’s lockdown phase, which was when most of these tracks first began. Being able to work with other musicians at that time helped stave off the fear of the unknown and a monotony￼ that felt like Groundhog’s Day. A great distraction, if nothing else.

After a few big life changes which put the project on hold for over a year, I recently had time and space to finally get these finished up. The first release entitled “general mayhem” is posted, with two additional releases in the works. Thanks so much to everyone who gave their time and talents.
