Lonely (As The Mind Is One)

I was happy to write lyrics and perform the vocals on this song! I wrote the lyrics about a man who has lost the love of his life. He visits his loved one's grave site and soaks in his depression, wishing she was still here with him.

Without Her

I aimed for a caribbean feel using skank guitar, organ bubble, bass and percussion punctuated by a trombone chorus. I also added a sort of descant using a sampled accordeon to complement the voice. Overall I planned this as a response to what I could hear in the vocal line. For this reason the trombone riffs and snare patterns were totally improvised while listening to the voice.
