BIO: Sequënce is a musical project by Italian DJ and producer Francesco Lo Tauro. Born in Rome (Italy) but now based on Australia’s Gold Coast, Sequënce is an artist who encompasses all aspects of deep and tech electronic music. Inspired by artists like Paco Osuna, Loco Dice and Richie Hawtin, Sequënce has developed his own sound and has become one of the most competent DJs currently playing their trade in the Australian region.

Sequënce has become one of the area’s most well respected artists and often provides support for some of the industry’s biggest hitters. Having already featured on the same line ups as international acts like Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna, Jamie Jones, Heidi, Pan-Pot, Dyed Soundroom (Apollonia), Sante, Rebekah, Oliver Giacomotto, Lauren Lane, Detlef, Pawsa, Rossko, Camelphat and many others.

Away from the dancefloor, Sequënce has also started to make a name for himself on Australia’s festival circuit and the International scene . Well received performances at We Are FSTVL (London), Elrow Town (London), Elements Festival, Festival X and Hï Ibiza (Bodyworks) will be sure to pave the way for even more festival and International shows in the near future.

As well as a sublime selector, Sequënce is also an extremely accomplished producer with a string of successful releases already under his belt. Signed to a number of labels, including Klaphouse Records, Plastik Galaxy, Be One Ltd, Datagroove, Habitat and many others. Sequënce has highlighted his collaboration with Mattia Musella, Europa, released on Natura Viva, as his favourite production to do date. His recent release, "About the Party", was released on Deeperfect earlier this year and with more music due for release on large International labels such as Klaphouse Records it is clear to see that Sequënce is very much a producer who is in demand at the moment.

The future definitely is bright and the diary packed for this young artist. Anyone that has seen him play out live knows firsthand that there are no gimmicks or cliches about this Artist, just unadulterated raw talent and an ingrained love for the music he plays.

The artist behind the writing and production of the music is Australian born Laban Giraldi. Starting playing guitar at the age of 13 with the help of some chords and riffs from a family friend, he taught himself everything from there. Having a habit of locking away and writing extensively long and intricate guitar pieces, he was smart enough to record them periodically in a studio when it came time that the brain couldn't back log any more song data! 
Laban has always been a lover of metal music, more predominantly in his younger years, but always falls back on it as a drive to write inspiring and energetic music. You will find in most of his musical composures that there is usually a bopping breakdown of some kind, or upbeat bridge that changes everything you were just listening to all around sideways, complimenting the listening experience even more so. 
The first entrance to the studio at his home town of Coffs Harbour in 2001, he recorded a CD of metal riffs and melodies, along with an acoustic album that showcased instrumental songs leaning to the darker side of sound using drop D tuning. The album was called "God's Country".
After a couple years he had started playing a classical guitar, had dropped the plectrum and started using just his thumb and forefinger to pluck a new classical sound. Still amongst these compositions was plenty of energy with fast melodies and bluesy strummed chords. He went into record another batch of music at Airlie Beach in 2003. This time achieving a better quality result. The album was called "Airlie".
After moving to Newcastle, Laban started taking lessons from a local spanish guitar teacher for the first time in his life and learnt latin chord structures and scales. He also bought a Zoom MRS-8 multi-track recording machine with a drum and bass machine built in. With this he locked himself away again for a few months and produced another Album worth of material mixing acoustic guitar with electronic sounds and introducing spanish style into a few songs. This album was called "Origumentals". 
After a large gap in recording and writing, Laban moved to Canada in 2008 for employment in Mining, which he had been pursuing the previous years in Western Australia. When dumped with a lay off from work and a broken leg, he picked up the guitar and started writing again. This time making an effort at writing lyrics to the songs. In the same time he found a local singer by the name of Bonnie Hanson. He gave her recordings of the songs and lyrics and within a few months they were playing around town at local bars and summer street performances. They called themselves "A New Light" and from there on the story goes: 

"Beginning as an acoustic duo, I wrote from the heart and Bonnie, the female vocalist on the songs re-created the sound of pure harmony. Some songs just erupted into joy like "Lovestruck" and "Company" and others were a constant experimental journey of re-writing and adding new sounds. Every song was an experience in itself though. Whether it was the joy of writing it and hearing vocals for the first time or conducting the great musicians that performed in the songs, it was uplifting to hear ideas turn into reality. I recorded everything on a Zoom R16 multi-track recording machine. I did all the guitar first, then vocals. Then I sat down and listened for the possibility of other instruments, noted my visions on paper, then went out and found the people to do it. To start with I had some really great musicians come in and do a lot of super cheap to free recording. But as the journey went on it was hard to get everything I wanted without dishing out the cash to feed my new found addiction of music experimentation. 
Once everything was recorded, I would go through everything myself and pick and choose the takes that suited best, edit and sometimes copy sections that didn't have time to be recorded. All this I did with the free online audio program "Audacity". Then with everything ready I found an amazing sound engineer in the heart of Vancouver and started mixing. Portraying ideas I had with effects and panning, the engineer produced as I navigated with colourful imagination. 
Its basically been a one man show for the most part. Writing, recording, finding the people to work with. It was only meant to be a short compilation of the music Bonnie (the vocalist) and I produced, but after all the great additions and studio glory I added to the songs, it was endeavoured to have everything perfect for the final album result. I hope its as much a treat to your ears as it is to mine."
