Biography
D Lamar has been in love with music since childhood. Inspired by favorites such as Prince, Michael Jackson, Maze and his all-time favorite group New Edition, D began singing at an early age. Until age 11, when he began writing R&B song lyrics, he focused his efforts on writing poems, short stories, and love letters. Soon he transitioned to writing rap/hip-hop lyrics upon being introduced to a wave of artists such as home state favorites, Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, and The Luniz, and East Coast rappers and groups Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan, Jay-Z, Diddy, and R. Kelly.

By age 18, D Lamar had won a local record store talent search and performed during a talent show preceding a Cash Money/Ruff Ryders concert. As a result he recorded his first songs at a professional recording studio—one of which, "Rain," was selected by a classmate for video production as a senior project. D Lamar has gone on to meet and work with other local Bay Area artists such as members of Mob Figgas, with the notable song “Edible,” produced by Rob-Lo. He also produced the mixtape “It’s Over” and collaborated on other songs with artists from around the globe, including Doc J (Los Angeles), Rapper Soul Food (New York), and El Hoya (U.K.).

Red Pill is the patron saint of a poisoned world. The blue-collar Michigan MC writes spiteful chants for the permanently scarred, death letters for the forgotten, surly hymns for charcoal lungs. Think Bukowski on an eloquent bender, swapping wine for whiskey, a notepad for a glowing LED screen, the race track for the recording booth. These are anthems for the irate, over-educated and under-valued. 

Over his last three albums ("Look At What The World Did To Us," "Instinctive Drowning," "Day Drunk") Ferndale's Chris Orrick has embodied the idea that all great art is a form of complaint. Before the alienation of the Midwestern working class became a top political cliche of 2016, the pundits could've learned everything from a quick study of his back catalogue. Pill made the generational manifestos of an ex-machinist in his mid-20s, saddled with crippling debt, substance addictions, depression, and dim job prospects. Thoreau's quiet desperation turned into a bitter yawp. He makes hip-hop to give Horatio Alger a stone cold stunner. He prophesized an American dream that swiftly turned dystopian. Then he'll balance it out by rhyming "listening to Bitches Brew," with "eating chicken vindaloo." Somehow, it puts the fun back in dysfunction.   

As Pitchfork said, "his pain never feels like a put on." XXL declared "if Red Pill is not on your radar, it's time to change that." He combines the emotional chaos of early Atmosphere with the incisive satire of Open Mike Eagle. If escapism is our most sought-after currency, this is the opposite. It's serious as a third-degree burn, real as roadkill, poignant chronicles of our domestic failures. The late night conversations you have with your closest friends, your defenses down, glass bottles and cigarette boxes stacked, infidelities and flaws openly admitted. 

We need artists like Red Pill and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. In a world of constant lies and artifice, his music cuts through the banality and reveals what's most important -- the search for meaning in the meaningless, the notion that there has to be something better than this, the idea that despite of all this madness, we can find fleeting shards of solace. He'll tell you a story about chronic genetic alcoholism and then offer a toast, write songs about certain death but allow for the possibility of healing through music. He understands the complexities and contradictions of life as well as anyone, but would never openly admit that. As for everything else, that's fair game.

We humorously subvert the three letters, drawing on the positivity of the Disco music genre and the history of Disco as a haven for minorities. The movement attempts to tackle Islamophobia and racism in an engaging and unusual way, by spreading a message of equality through music.

We have counter-demonstrated against the English Defence League on multiple occasions. Dressed in afro wigs, sequinned tops and flares, we turn up the disco tunes and tell the English Defence League to, “Go! Walk out the door! Turn now, you’re not welcome anymore!” Our counter-demos have taken place in London, Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Cambridge, Newcastle and more.

Since the group's inception we have amassed over 60,000 Facebook likes, 10,000 Twitter followers and Google-bombed the search term 'EDL'. We've performed at Glastonbury, Shambala, Kendal Calling and Playgroup Festivals - spreading our “Don't Hate! Gyrate!” message and also been shortlisted for the National Diversity Awards 2013. The English Disco Lovers have even been featured in a music video, which was nominated for the UK Music Video Awards and received support from Nile Rodgers!

2020 STARTING JULY ONE SINGLE A MONTH. 
Tamara Williamson has been a mainstay in the Toronto music scene since the early 90’s. She released 3 albums with her band Mrs. Torrance on the major label BMG. Mrs. Torrance toured extensively in Canada opening for such acts as Oasis, The Beautiful South, Talk Talk, and Jewel. They toured with bands such as The Crash Test Dummies, The Pursuit of Happiness, The Waltons, The Rheostatics, Hayden and King Cobb Steelie.  Mrs. Torrance were pushed to radio with their single “Porn” and were on Much Music rotation. 
In 2000 Mrs. Torrance disbanded and Tamara started a solo career. Her music is ethereal and sensitive. Using many effects and layers she was one of the first artists to start live looping and was known for her experimentation using both vocal effects and looping. Tamara was featured in The New Music Show in 2000 and her first independent single went into rotation on MUCH Music. Her first recording “Nightmare on Queen Street” was very well received and Tamara played at many folk festivals such as Hillside, The Regina Folk Festival, and NXNE. She also went down the West Coast touring with Bob Wiseman and Matt Nathensen.
In 2003 Tamara was voted fourth best concert of the year by NOW magazine ahead of Greenday, and behind Bjork.
Tamara is the only voice until this year to be recorded on a Do Make Say Think album. She also fronted the trip hop band Microbunny, which won the CBC new band search in 2002. 
In 2006 Tamara signed to a French label and toured France extensively as part of “Le Femme S’en Mêlent” tour. She played alongside Feist and Shannon Wright. She was interviewed and recorded live to French National Radio. She also played shows in Spain and Italy.
From 2007 until 2016 Tamara has released four albums and toured in Canada and France. In 2015 Tamara started focusing on playing smaller more intimate festivals and venues such as house concerts. 
Tamara was recently featured in the Globe and Mail Broadsheet, an end of year collection of songs written about 2014. Tamara’s song “The Next One” is about women coming forward to speak out about their experiences of sexual harassment and violence and was recorded with the band Absolutely Free. This song was released on a compilation put out by the label Arts and Crafts. Her latest album “Sister Mother Daughter Wife” pays homage to women survivors from around the world. 
Tamara is a member of the Canadian Alternative Cover band AVRO,  and recently started a ukelele duo project, CROW, with the amazing songwriter Patty Ewaschuk.
Tamara lives in Uxbridge with her son Angus where she has a business creating music for dressage horses. She also paints and has recently commissioned her paintings to The True North Records/Gallery.
