There are many words to describe Isqa’s new EP, “Melancolor”: Beautiful, funky, and dissonant, just to name a few. But one word is never used: Generic. DUSTLA is always looking for original styles and cutting-edge sounds, and that is exactly what they found in Isqa. In 2013, Isqa released his debut album“Tetraform”. He quickly made a name for himself in the scene, and now he is back for more.

 The EP kicks off with the ironically named track “Control”. Why is it ironic? Because when you listen, you have NO control over your body. Filled with glitch-like effects, huge sounds, and dissonant melodies, this track will keep you on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out where it will go next. “Too Real Morrison” is one of the funkiest and most beautiful tracks you will ever hear. With its piano arpeggios and tight drums, this is a perfect example of how electronic sounds and melodic styles can combine to make a whole new experience for the listener. While listening to this EP for the first time, “Control” and “Too Real Morrison” will take you by surprise, and it will be hard to imagine that the next track could be anywhere near the level of the first two. Needless to say, you will be surprised yet again. “Melancolor” is the title track of this EP, and it deserves it. As you listen, you will be taken on a journey to an unknown paradise. This track earns the title of Isqa’s EP with wonderful melodies played by some of the best synths you will ever hear. Last but definitely not least, is “Red”. This banger has beautifully pitched vocals, insane sound effects, and heavy synths, all fitting together like puzzle pieces to form an elaborate piece of art that will blow you away. The use of quiet sounds in the background really makes you feel as though “Red” surrounds you. But don’t take my word for it, Listen for yourself!
