A song that was written during lockdown, from the inside looking out.

The lyrics were inspired by a baby blackbird that was found sick, with a crossed beak, by our vocalist in her garden. She nursed it back to health by feeding it every day for 6 weeks. Our vocalist used to wait by the window during lockdown - the looking glass - and wait for the bird to arrive each morning. 

The song also explores the concept of identity: if you can just believe, you will see your true self in the mirror.

Hoodoo Blue were formed in March 2018 by Missy Edwards and Jools Bath (who were previously in Somerset’s alternative rock band 'Missart' and Bristol based alt rockers 'Treacle Eater)'. Jools had been a founder member of West Country cajun folk rock band K-Passa and he currently plays alongside Reef bassist Jack Bessant in the 'The Cheddar Experiment Band’ (Ched Ex). This is where he recruited Oli Lee (Bass) and Pibby B (Drums) to join Missy (Vocals) and himself (Guitar) to form Hoodoo Blue. This has led to performances in venues and festivals across the UK over the last few years. In October 2018 they recorded their debut EP 'Break' in Orchard Studios Somerset, which was mastered by Matt Colton at Alchemy Studios in London. 
Hoodoo Blue then recorded and released their first album ‘Skin’ in March 2020 on CD and across all digital platforms. A self-produced album, recorded at Orchard Studios and again mastered by the award-winning  Matt Colton (this time at Metropolis Studios, London),  Skin is eleven tracks of dreamy trip-pop with an indie edge featuring Joe Atkinson (Neville Staples Band, the Rhynes) on keyboards alongside the core band members.
