Born Carltrell Praytor, "Calico So Cold" also known as "So Cold" is a indie rap artist/song-writer native to San Diego, California who migrated south as a child where he grew up, and currently resides in Columbia, SC. His music is a reflection of his pain and struggles in life influenced by real life events which resonates through song. From his childhood, growing up in foster care as a rebellious youth, to his late teens up until present day, he is a survivor of gang fights, shootouts, drug deals gone wrong, a slew of jail stints, and he lives to tell the tale. Calico So Cold is truly a product of his environment! Using music as a way to vent and escape his everyday life, he found himself fed up with the street life and wanting better for himself and his family, who he says is his motivation for pursuing a career in music.Taking the negativity, turning it into a positive he speaks from the perspective of a OG who's seen and done it all, giving words of wisdom to the ghetto's youth. Versatile in his craft, he also speaks from the standpoint of the ones he's giving the game to, so you recieve his message from all angles as a listener. His inspiration comes from artist such as Tupac Shakur, DMX, and Lil Boosie. Deep in meaning with substance. Passionate about his artistry and literature as a writer he can be very creative with his subject matter, contributing to different genres and audiences which separates him the majority in his lane. With a little over a decade on the underground hip hop circuit releasing multiple mixtapes with little to no success he's remained humble and kept quiet for too long. Overdue for industry success, he's definitely something the game has been missing!
