Gary and I have always been fascinated by the beauty of cloud formations. So when we first heard about SoundCloud, the very name piqued our collective imaginations before we'd even visited the site or posted any music. We started Mountain Songs nine short years ago and we've now had well over half a million plays on the page, something we could never have expected. 
The two of us have had many conversations about SoundCloud being like an imaginary village situated somewhere up in the clouds. In this village, there are lots of pubs and bars where we meet with other like-minded folks, occasionally stopping to play music together and share a hypothetical drink or three to oil the wheels of discussion. These hospitable watering holes may indeed be imaginary but the friendships made have been very real, meaningful and long-lasting.
This seemed like the ideal time to write a song about this fantastic village. Within the lyrics, you may read names you've never heard before but they are all, in some way, connected with cloud phenomena. If you're at all interested, do Google them and read their stories. It's fascinating stuff.
Of course, Hans picked up on the atmosphere of this one straight away and, as always, has produced a brilliant arrangement that took the song on to greater heights. He is just one of those with whom we not only collaborate musically but have also become close friends, alongside others such as Gordon Midgley and Arkestar. There are so many other names we could mention but we sincerely hope they know who they all are.
As many of you will be aware, neither Gary nor myself are getting any younger and age has brought with it a number of debilitating medical conditions that are making it harder and harder to stay as active on SoundCloud as we have been in the past. Gary has always been the one who maintains the day-to-day contact but his ongoing health problems are now starting to make that impossible. We continue to support each other as best we can and will be posting new songs when we get the opportunity. 
We're not saying goodbye here, more of a 'we’ll see you around when we can...’ 
This song is for all of you, our wonderful SoundCloud friends. With all our hearts, we thank you for the kindness and support you have shown over the last nine years. It really has meant the world to us. (Terry Reeves)
