Cellist Emily Burridge has had a long association with my earlier collaborator BJ Cole, so it was nice to get to work together over the lockdown period. I play my Bergerault bass marimba (the lowest notes are in the middle sections) and Emily plays her electric cello and did all the fiddly balance stuff! This is a suite of eight short sections; the individual pieces are, in order, Wychwood, Mirkwood, Birdwood, Driftwood, Wormwood, Underwood, Heartwood and Greenwood. The image is a painting of our birchwood by my wife, Catherine Rickman.

Inspired by the discovery that Chernobyl has bacteria that radiosynthesise to create their energy source. 
This uses Garageband to record loops and direct freestyle recording from the Artiphon Orba, 
Some stay direct, some have been saved as WAV files and passed through the iVCS3.
You also have the “pleasure” of my voice in English and “Russian”

An aged hippie with a penchant for electronically heavy music in all forms, electro and rock folk.... and heavy metal in all it forms from Wagner to Whitesnake and Hawkwind to Haydn. 
All active interest was regenerated by the purchase of Artiphon's Orba and the discover of the iVCS3 [the original machine that I started making music was a VCS3]... the iVCS3 is a lot easier to use!
