Cellist Emily Burridge has had a long association with my earlier collaborator BJ Cole, so it was nice to get to work together over the lockdown period. I play my Bergerault bass marimba (the lowest notes are in the middle sections) and Emily plays her electric cello and did all the fiddly balance stuff! This is a suite of eight short sections; the individual pieces are, in order, Wychwood, Mirkwood, Birdwood, Driftwood, Wormwood, Underwood, Heartwood and Greenwood. The image is a painting of our birchwood by my wife, Catherine Rickman.

Fly to Your Dream

A slow number inspired by Celtic and synthesized music.... a battle between simple Morris-type tunes and their synthetic counterpart.
Composed entirely from music created on Artiphon’s Orba synthesizer and played with in Garageband.... assisted by the iVCS3 and Baron [a large black “not quite a tom” cat] who provided the soft skin drum sound.

An aged hippie with a penchant for electronically heavy music in all forms, electro and rock folk.... and heavy metal in all it forms from Wagner to Whitesnake and Hawkwind to Haydn. 
All active interest was regenerated by the purchase of Artiphon's Orba and the discover of the iVCS3 [the original machine that I started making music was a VCS3]... the iVCS3 is a lot easier to use!
