The Cabinet Maker Album

After years of putting his future in the hands of others, Gary Edward Jones decided to take control of his own destiny. He set out to find the most talented musicians he could and a chance meeting with Skeet Williams revealed an instant musical synergy. 

Together, with Gary’s good friend and sound engineer, Gareth Dubbeling, they recorded a pre-production album in Gary’s back room which received positive feedback from trusted ears in the industry and friends alike. They joined forces with Oscar South and Daniel J. Logan and the backbone of the album and live performance was formed.

Gary’s talent as a producer lies in encouraging creativity and sensitivity from his band members, and providing the necessary structure to allow moments for each musician to really shine. 

They recorded at Orchard Studios, Crewe and The Batcave, Liverpool. Russell Cottier mixed and mastered the album, working with Gary to exacting standards and paying great attention to detail. In Gary’s mind the brief was always to allow the guitars and vocals to entwine making a rich, warm, sound that would be easy to listen to; an objective most definitely achieved. 

It was imperative that the album had the kind of backing vocals that Gary was brought up on (Fleetwood Mac, Motown etc.) Elizabeth Kearney and Kellyann Lea of ‘Grace and Danger’ delivered the goods in virtually one take. 

Nine, well-crafted songs represent just a small part of Gary’s repertoire. The Cabinet Maker reflects the experiences from his life and the lives of those closest to him. 

Gary’s motivation to bring the album to completion was to show his parents and his most loyal supporters that all the time spent crafting songs and performing them hadn’t been in vain. He wanted nothing more than to know they were proud of him, with songs that were heartfelt, honest and very, very real.


Born in Derby, Central England in 1967, he had a conventionally musical childhood, where both parents were musicians and with involvement in music at school, discovering modernism in music, Mahler, Bartok, Berg and Tangerine Dream from friends in early adolescence. Parting unceremoniously from school he moved to a local college to study ...music, deepening obsessive interests in modernism in music, Art and Architecture. Here he developed the early phase of what would occupy him for the next 20 years - the style of minimal line Drawing of Form and shape abstracted to Geometric Figures that came to be called Elementalism, becoming a branch of OP Art. After a Dangerous brush with Cancer in his early 20's and Reading Philosophy and Music at Warwick in his late 20's he held Major Solo exhibitions in London and Berlin, and has Large commissioned works in Liverpool Met. Cathedral, and in Oxford and Derby Universities, he retired from Art for the love of music aged 39. Music had followed his life as percussion, from folk bands to Solo work. He gave two recitals at the University of Derby in 2005 and 6. A man in the audience [2006] offered him recording Facilities and so came his first and second albums, being solo percussion albums under the then stage name 'Perpetuum Mobile' to distinguish it from the Art. In short order he set up his own studio facilities, His 'Drum Studio' and began recording in earnest. Percussion first, with the two PM albums becoming 7 'Drum music' or Dm Albums including his 'Five Sonatas' [Dm 2], and his 'First inventions for Djembe' [Dm 6] These works starting to employ multiple tracking and Electronics, 'Skyside full of echoes' [Dm3] even becoming 'Concert pieces' in a studied understanding of contemporary music. A number of albums featured sets of Solo Percussion 'inventions' for various instruments, consciously modelled on Bach's notions of instrumental invention, in 'the maximum from the least means', drawing out Techniques, textures and sonorities from all manner of Drums. Developing also studio techniques and electronics which would lead him far beyond percussion, with an upgrade to the new Isobel Studio. There followed an explosion of Creativity, he says: "It's like I had 40 years of pent up music inside me" - resulting in his spending the next four years continuously recording, at his studio and others. Drum music, Dm, was the first of his so called 'Tranches,' or 'Sections,' of separate musical research, that separated very rapidly out of the white heat of the earliest recordings, with equipment being set up recorded and mastered in quick succession, "it would be in the can before it could be even named", the only thing which preserved an order was the recording Catalogue number Rh X, for rhythm, later just 'Rh,' analogous to his 'Cw' notation for Art works; the last of which in the high 800's was just months before. So, it became necessary to organise his thoughts, into five working areas." Thus in the first of several root and branch reconsiderations, the notion of the Five Tranches was sealed, incorporating the Rh catalogue nos. as a bed rock chronology across all the Areas. These five ‘Areas of interest’/ research,’ Tranches’ or ‘Sections’ are, firstly, 'Drum music', Dm; and, secondly, another species of percussion, this time on metal, metal sonority and harmonics, with tuned and untuned metal objects and instruments, giving 'Metal Percussion music,' or MPm. With the first 7 albums Named as Dm 1 - 7, the 3 albums collecting the early pieces he calls the 'Metal shop', after setting up the studio in a dedicated area to make a lot of noise in deep in the nights, albums 8, 9 and 10 became MPm 1 - 3. And so the pattern emerged, compositing the next five albums, to encompass the works made thus far in his 3rd area of interest or Tranche. Music created by tape loops, set against one another to systematically create complexity and resolution in phasing effects, hence 'Phase music' or Phm. Thus albums 11 - 15 are called Phm 1 - 5. A music type for stringed instruments, with percussion and electronics, al la Klaus Schulze's 'X' [ten] and 'Trancefer 'was beginning to emerge, which, though still in its infancy , would be the push towards a recognisably Classical music and become an important strand in his music. Thus those proto Classical works were collected in albums 16, 17 and 18 as 'Music for Strings, Electronics and Percussion', or MSEP 1 - 3. The Last Tranche was a music that had travelled so far from its instrumental or environmental source, that it could be said to be 'Electronic music.' Thus last 8 albums in the organisation that set the these categories in Stone, gave albums 19 - 26 the subtitles of Electronic music or Em 1 - 8. From then on each new 'Album, that is 'CD length collection,' would take a designation after its content, to its tranche, and the next sequential number, in an irregular distribution over 120 or so albums. This last placement number, by album release not section is named after the record company founded to publish all this, DCM or 'Drowningcircle music' hence DCM number - itself named after his publishing Company founded with the Art in the 1990's 'Drowningcircle Contemporary fine Art’ or DCA, and yet Itself named after the small Artist's collective he founded in 1986 'The Drowning.' This Complex is the core of his working life, but surrounding this is an equally rich, if not richer layer of Collaborations with some very interesting people. The first of these, almost from the beginning of the music, was Jim Tetlow whom he met at an Electronic performance in Leicester in 2007, so beginning a long association with a group of musicians collectively known as 'The Leicester underground.' That first meeting became a shared stage, and an association to this Day as the Contemporary Duo 'Tetlow and Broadhurst,' producing some seminal work, over to date 14 albums. A couple of years after he met Jim Tetlow another figure came on the scene, the Cellist David Dhonau, with whom he formed D'juil - exploring in great depth aspects of the contemporary cello over, to date, 17 Albums, many of them doubles, and some of the most important music he would write. Lastly in his Leicester phase a short series of works with the Leicester based Polish Flautist Vocalist Ola Szmidt [and David Dhonau], as ‘OLArJ’ [pronounced ‘O lar ja’] and’ OLAU’ [‘O Lau’]. Their Double disc 'Cord of life' was played in full on American Classical music radio 'What’s next' - as were two works of D'juil. Falling a little out of sorts with Leicester, and restless for wider horizons he met the German wind specialist Markus Wenninger and through him Croatian Composer Jurica Jelic and Formed between them JJM, with one album, the double 'Breeze'. This short lived project separated into 'Wenninger Broadhurst,' a very important collaboration, with to date 7 albums, and the short lived, 2 album collaboration 'Anjelic,’ with Jurica Jelic and Berlin Sound Artist Marcus Beuter. Then another important international duo, ‘Konnyek’ formed under the umbrella of JJM [now as a publishing collective], with the Serbian Composer Pianist Marina Vesic, with five albums to date. Also, he formed collaborations with Leicester Vocalist Flautist Maureen Anderson, as 'Anderson Morning [2 Albums]; and With the English Percussionist Walt Shaw as 'Lords of the Dance. He has always felt his musical life could be expanded by working with others, and that his ‘Collaborative music’, his so called ‘Sixth Tranche’, Cm, was a life's work in itself.

My name is Danké (pronounced Dan-Kay) and I am an independent Korean American singer, producer, and songwriter. 

I am here to share my first digital EP, POWER, TRIPPIN’, with all of you (for free!). POWER, TRIPPIN’ is a bilingual (Korean and English) 4-track, alternative pop, digital EP and I welcome you to experience the delusional world that I have created in this EP with my arms and heart wide open to you. 

The world that I created with this EP is a delusion constructed within my mind. In this other world, I am the ruler and I am worshipped as worthy, beautiful, and powerful. All of this may appear egotistical and narcissistic at first glance, but the reality of it all is that these maniacal delusions were my only ways of coping, of starting to believe that I am, in fact, worthy of respect and love.

If you have ever felt marginalized, oppressed, or undervalued, I wrote this for you. If you have ever been told that you weren’t talented or beautiful enough, I wrote this for you. If you have ever doubted yourself or worried whether you were worthy of living out your dreams, I wrote this for you. I hope my music can empower and free you, as it has done for me.

When my daughter, Rachel, was five, I was the leader of a mothers’ group called “HOME”: Helping Our Mothers Excel. One of my favorite memories was watching Rachel climb up the ladder of her bunk bed one night, whispering under her breath, “I don’t know why you’re the leader of Helping Our Mothers Excel!” I leaned at the doorway of her room thinking, “I don’t know either.” Most of us have issues from our childhood. We might have personality traits we would rather live without; and it would help if we could instantly deprogram our minds and lose the baggage we are carrying. However, this journey must often simultaneously happen while we are learning to become parents ourselves. Is there a perfect, universal method to raising children? No.

Because no parents are perfect and all families are different. What you are about to read is an organization of short, concise notes with word pictures and stories that capture lessons on parenting I have accumulated over a period of thirty years. Some are notes from experts in the field of family living gathered while hosting a radio program. During those seven years, I read a book a week for each author, doctor, psychologist, or specialist whom I had the opportunity to interview. Others are notes compiled from my experiences raising our daughters while working seventeen years with various family outreaches. You will find “Bottom Line” notations at the end of each Note. I created this format recalling an astute executive I met while working on special events who never wasted time. He would start every meeting with these two words: Bottom Line.

Just for fun, I googled “How to write an instructional manual.” Most articles suggested starting at square one:

Assume the audience has zero knowledge of the subject matter. If your children are older, you will relate to the notes that are most familiar to you. If you know any new parents, you might want to share this booklet with them. It is meant to be a quick study of what to expect. Most websites also encouraged avoiding information overload and sticking only with what recipients need to know. In other words, use only as many words as necessary. I was tempted to elaborate and add research, statistics, articles, and quotes, but that would defeat the purpose and objective of this project.

I hope you enjoy reading the book and listening to the audio minutes as much as I enjoyed writing them. It is indeed a labor of love for all the families out there. While it is impossible to help all the children of the world, my mission is to help parents as they raise their little ones.

Blackleaf Gardens is a four piece progressive metal band that brings crushing riffs, groovy tune and chaotically progressive rhythms together with catchy bipolar vocals delivering screams through lullabies. Likened to prestigious acts such as Opeth, Mastodon, The Faceless and Tool. The band brings an explosive, bizarre and maniacal performance.

The band formed in 2011 and has been climbing the local music scene with relentless ferocity leaving a lasting impression and building momentum. This has lead the band to open for Lord (Australia), El Schlong as well as many leading local acts.

2012 saw the release of the band's first five track EP "Seedling State," produced entirely by the band, which received repeated radio play and led the band to win the K.I.L.L. (Keep it Live & Loud) competition run by local radio station The Flat FM. The prize included means to record a debut album.

In 2013 the band made it to the grand finals of the National Battle of the Bands, they took home the award for best drummer and warm praise from the judging panel. 2013 also saw the release of 'Key to Infinity', Blackleaf Gardens' debut album. The album is themed around social decline, pagan ideals and an insight inside a manic end time with evolving elemental themes relating to the band's name studied on a twisted psychedelic realm in which beautiful flora and omnipotent creatures dwell all inside the mind's eye.

The oldest traces of the CRIMSON FALLS date back to spring 2002, when the band was originally formed by Kristof Damen (guitar), Ringo Van Dingenen (guitar) and Sigi Loots (drum). This line-up composed the first CF-songs while looking for a suitable singer and bass player to make the band complete. In October 2002 both were found in Filip Van Damme (vocals) and Maarten Van Houdt (bass).  The first shows were played in April/May 2003. After these shows it became clear that not everyone in the band had the same view on the musical direction. Vocalist Filip didn’t feel comfortable with the style of music the rest of the band was heading for, so both sides agreed that going their own ways was the best option to take. After this, CRIMSON FALLS kept on rehearsing and writing new songs as a foursome. After 8 long months, a new singer was found in former Legion- & current Blood Redemption-singer Wim Jacobs in spring 2004. 

The new line-up started playing shows in August 2004; building up a solid live reputation. Meanwhile CRIMSON FALLS got ready for the recordings of their first release. In May 2005 the debut mcd ‘Ruins 2K5’ saw the light of day. ‘Ruins 2K5’ contained five songs in which the band blended metalcore and melodic Swedish death metal. CRIMSON FALLS recorded this album at Waves Studio. The artwork is designed by Dirge Design. This first effort put the band on the map in the metal & hardcore scene and got praised by an impressive series of national and international reviews. More shows followed in support of the album. 

In 2006 CRIMSON FALLS was faced with new line-up troubles with the departure of bass player Maarten Van Houdt. This didn’t stop the band from taking the next step in their evolution with the recordings of their first full-length label release. In December 2006 'The True Face Of Human Nature’ came out on Shiver Records. The album, recorded, mixed and mastered at CCR studio (Aborted, In-Quest, Betzefer, Liar, Lengtche..), brings you 45 minutes of modern & hard-hitting deathMETALcore. ‘The True Face Of Human Nature’ features guest appearances by Svencho (Aborted) on ‘Controle Alt Delete’ and XCaroX (No Recess) on ‘Martyr Vs. Terrorist.’ The artwork is conceived by Avernus Studios, a new design agency born out of the ashes of Dirge Design (Immolation, The Amenta, In-Quest..). An extensive booklet is added to this album with liner notes commenting every song, giving a deeper insight on the lyrical content. Bass on these recordings was played by Sven ‘The Bassturbator’ Janssens (Aborted, The End Of All Reason). For the live shows Kristof Taveirne (Spoil Engine, Regression) filled in the empty spot on stage. A permanent replacement was found in September 2006 when Tom Trancez (I Witness, Serial Butcher) joined CRIMSON FALLS. After the release of the ‘The True Face Of Human Nature’, CRIMSON FALLS concentrated on promoting the new album, playing numerous shows in Europe, with a performance at Graspop Metal Meeting 2007 as the absolute highlight.

CRIMSON FALLS recorded its second full length in September/October 2008 at CCR studio and was mixed and mastered there as well in November/December 2008. ‘Fragments Of Awareness’ got released by Genet Records in April 2009. The new album shows a more mature and evolved CRIMSON FALLS, pushing their mix of ingredients to the extreme. This one is harder, more varied a hard-hitting then ever before. The album features guest vocals from Bart (Rafflesia) at ‘The Suicide Circle’, while members of When Blood Burns, It Breeds No More, Rafflesia and Crimson Falls team up for some gang vocals on ‘With All Due Respect’ & ‘Regenesis’. After this release the band shared the stage with scene leaders The Black Dahlia Murder, All Shall Perish, White Chapel, Origin & Despised Icon. Their appearance at Ieperfest 2009 was the start of CRIMSON FALLS’ first European Tour which brought the band to Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria & Holland. 

After this tour the band decide to go further without guitar player Ringo as his personal life made it impossible for him to invest the necessary time and effort in the band any longer. A few weeks later drummer Sigi decided to quit the band as he lost the motivation to go on. Jeroen Foré (Strich.Nine, ex-Catafalque) was enrolled as the new guitar player, while Friso Van Wijck (ex-Polluted Inheritance) stepped in as a temporary replacement on the drums, making sure no shows had to be cancelled and giving the band the time to search for a new permanent replacement. After a long but profound search, Michael Stevenick was welcomed as the new drummer in May 2010. With Michael the band continued playing shows in support of the re-release of ‘Fragments Of Awareness’ on UK-based Rising Records (Trigger The Bloodshed, Bleed From Within…) in May 2011.  A second European Tour brought the band to Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Austria & Germany; next to several shows & weekend-tours in Belgium, Holland & Denmark. Unfortunately; when it was time to  start writing new material for a following release; new line-up problems saw the light of day and slowed the writing process down. Newcomer Mitch left the band at the end of 2012, after being in the band for 1,5 year.

CRIMSON FALLS has never been a band of quitters so immediately the band started a new search for a new drummer while plans for a new album were made. Sworn Persistence ‘till the end. In march 2012 former Leptotrichia/Apocryph/Naskar drummer Youri Seynhaeve was enrolled as the new drumming machine. The definite start for the new CRIMSON FALLS; eager for more shows, more tours; but first of all a new release! At this point; September 2012, CRIMSON FALLS is in the middle of the writing process for the new full cd; while playing a few try-out shows throughout the country. Recordings are scheduled for February 2013; the release a few months later. So stay tuned; now more then ever!

With over 30,000 registered denominations, the Church in the West is fractured and split into so many groups, in which God calls carnality (1 Corinthians 3:1-5). We are in need for a movement of brothers and sisters coming together to meet under Christ’s Lordship and to simply obey Christ’s call to discipleship and evangelisation of the world. We don’t need more church buildings; we need the kind of true fellowship of the Body of Christ as in the Early Church (Acts 2:42-47). Not denominational churches with men in charge but rather where Jesus Christ is the Head (Colossians 1:18).

Are you looking for like-minded fellowship in your area? Do you want to be fruiful in your walk with Jesus Christ and lead others to become disciples? We invite you to prayerfully consider joining with this movement. It does not necessary mean you need to leave the Church you attend but you would commit to meet during the week with other like-minded believers from all different denominational backgrounds. Gospel Fellowships are fellowships of like-minded believers in Jesus Christ meeting together in autonomous groups of 2-3 or more on a weekly basis under the Headship of Jesus Christ.
