The computer tool is used today by man for a very large part of his life. We use it in such an intense way that even our thinking is itself altered by the infinite data that we draw from the net and from the media of all kinds. I think it takes us away and out of phase with reality, with nature and many other things.
Unfortunately, I also belong to this category of out-of-phase people. I tried through this track to translate this impression into music.

L'outil informatique est aujourd'hui utilisé par l'homme une très grande partie de sa vie. On s'en sert d'une façon tellement intense que même notre pensée est elle-même altérée par les données infinies que nous puisons sur le net et sur les médias en tout genre. Je pense que cela nous éloigne et nous déphase de la réalité, de la nature et de biens d'autres choses encore.
Je fais partie malheureusement également de cette catégorie de personnes déphasées. J'ai essayé à travers cette piste de traduire en musique cette impression.

Two Clans

Introduction in English:

On a Saturday, 9 June 1989, I receive a phone call from my mother at around 6 am. She seems to be laughing. But as it soon turns out, tears are bursting out of her. At first she can only say one sentence: "Your father is dead". Then her voice fails. I, who has just been roused from my sleep by the ringing, at first think it's a bad joke. My father, not even 55 years old, dead, who had been so full of energy in the last few months? With whom I had spoken lively on the phone just a week ago?
Then my eldest sister comes to the phone. She speaks like a robot, as if she has frozen all her feelings inside herself.
She confirms the sudden death of my father from a heart attack and urges me to come immediately from Berlin to southern Germany (800 kilometres away).
Much of what happened after that - from the last encounter with my father in the morgue, to the years of vacillating between feelings of liberation and sometimes massively frightening "I'll bring you to me in the realm of the dead" nightmares after his funeral, to finding a deeper inner peace with him in the last few years - I wrote down and sang about in the following song "My Father in Heaven".      
However, the song lyrics are not chronological, but set in 2011, in which I am all alone on a beautiful summer day in the cemetery where my father's grave is located. From this day I start a retrospective and an outlook.

This piece tells the story of the unrequited love of the little mermaid for the prince, who never realized that the little mermaid was the one who saved his life from the shipwreck.

Hey…. I missed you guys, your music, art, and conversations! Thanks to those who left me messages (Truly appreciated.) I took a long summer break that spilt into Autumn. It was great. Rode my old bicycle down along the river a couple times, and had to keep pedaling faster than the mosquitoes. I did some hiking in the mountains, old man style, carefully watching where I was going. I had fallen several times on previous outings, on slippery river rocks these past few years. So now I stick mostly to the trails, which I don’t really like to do, but realize that is where my age has put me. Most days I could be found piddling around the yard like a old monk, gardening and keeping the bird water clean, while laughing at and talking to the animals. After a while they get used to my eccentricities. Chickadees and Kinglets follow me around when I am watering. I think the watering stirs up insects that they feed on. Did some needed house painting. A couple decades ago, I had a second job painting apartments. I would leave my job at the high school, in proper dress attire and paint in those same clothes and never get a drop of paint on them. My wife at the time thought I was having an affair. Haha. She told friends… He says he’s painting but he never has any paint on his clothes. I tried to reassure her and even told her that was silly. Apparently she didn’t think so, so now I am alone. Ha. I also patched the roof and got a leak at the house seam that I had been trying to patch for years. I had a good visit with an old high school friend who I hadn’t seen in 50 years. Back when we were teenagers, he was taller than me. Now, when I first saw him, I saw I am at least a foot taller than him now. He was and is always an inspiration for me in life. After much grumbling about getting older, I am finally OK with being 67 years old. Sadly, I grieved for several people in my life who died. Tended the vegetable garden, harvesting all sorts of veggies, and stored some for the long winter. Collected all sorts of seeds. I even created some wild garden recipes, spending some well needed time in the kitchen. Later in the summer, I picked vine-ripened tomatoes for lunch, and grazed on apples and plums from the trees while working outside. I always leave plenty for the animals. After procrastinating, I repotted a bunch of large, root bound house plants. And I slept late while wildly dreaming… as some of you know, I appreciate dreams for their surreal content that often finds its way into my song lyrics. I also took some time to play electric slide guitar and sing outside on the porch, while working the kinks out of the slide sound and howling like an old hound dog. A neighbor asked: Was that you? (In a good way.) Some other neighbors were not so pleased. (Haha.) Anyway, this new home recording is a song I worked on recently. I have been working with my vocals to render out the course gravel tone and just sing. Gravel makes for great sounding Blues, but it really isn’t me. I have also been working on my rhythm guitar. (It needs it… haha) I am still learning so much about the music process. Thanks for bearing with me as I explore and test out these new ideas. Had an idea a few days ago for a dream sequence where a dearly departed woman appeared to her lover in his sleep, so I sent it to my awesome buddy & synthmeister John Buckle for ideas.

In addition to adding his glorious synths, he was also majorly instrumental (excuse the pun lol) in the creation & production of the finished track.
 
Note: I purposely heavily processed the vocal to give the impression of a ghostly voice.

This is a song that Steve wrote, and has released on his page. He sings it brilliantly, and plays guitar, too. He sent it to Josh to work on with him. Josh added the bass, strings, and organ. But it needed drums. And luckily he knows a great drummer named Ken, who added exactly what it needed. Then we sent it to Tez for a bit of his production and mixing wizardry. It's a totally different sound than we're all used to, but it was a lot of fun to put together. We hope you enjoy it, too.

I originally worked on this song in the year of 2005 
and It was one of my first works as arranger, 
this song was born by an idea of Mr. Pierfranco Chiusolo (it-it.facebook.com/pierfranco.chiusolo), 
the lyric is a good example of poetry in music; when Mr. Chiusolo gave It to me for arranging the first thing that came to my mind was a dark atmosphere with a psychedelic sound , Lara did an excellent Job on this song and I think that all in all in ten years after the work is pretty fine.

Una coperta di nuvoloni neri ha avvolto il sole,
ora la pioggia cade forte e gli alberi,

per non farsi colpire da quelle scintille d’ argento

Il vetro mi ripara ma le gocce che scendono
mi fanno pensare a quanta paura

Il vento non e’ solo tempesta,
forza immensa che scuote perfino gli alberi,
il vento e’ anche brezza leggera 
come un battito d’ ali
quello che sospinge una porta facendomi credere che, 
ci sia tu dietro  …

Il fresco buio della notte m’ accompagna
le piccole stelle da lassu’ sembrano dirmi
“guarda, noi ci siamo, lontane, ma questo non c’ impedisce
di brillare con tutta la nostra forza”
L’ acqua scorre veloce e tenace sui sassi,
non le importa di saltare, infrangersi, spruzzare qua e la’
perche’ sa che quello e’ il suo corso e
nessuno la puo’ fermare …

All these in my eyes , in my ears, on my skin and above all in my Heart
Thoughts that run quickly following the clouds….
