4cast an EP:

-Track one: loose screw
A personal narrative song that addresses the dislocation felt on the interpersonal level when existing in our society. It touches on ideas found in Pierre Bourdieu’s “Structures and the Habitus”. Inspired by the metaphysical poetic lyrics of Nas.

-Track two: contradiction
A spoken word deconstruction of ideas found in “Ain't I a Woman” by bell hooks of the black woman's struggle to find alliance in feminist spaces as well as in a male-dominated society and the contradictions of the black identity found in Eddie Glaude's “In a Shade of blue”.  References to Audre Lorde's ideas of the power of the erotic in spiritual liberation.

-Track three: when the world
A further exploration of the ideas found in track two. This spoken word piece is a personal call for anti-nihilism and denouncing self-doubt for oneself.  This piece draws on Cornel West's ideas of the disease of Nihilism within the black community. Takes influence from Tupacs hopeful lyrics in “keep ya head up”.

-Track four: receipts 
A spiritually focused song that takes on ideas of commodification, and the disposal of people not only in relationships but in society. I had Sister Outsider by Audre Lorde's ideas of relationships and queerness in the black community in mind while creating this track. Eryka Badu's focus on the spiritual and love also plays a part in this song. With a sample from Sojourner Truth's Ain't I a Woman" speech.
