Founded in 2018 by DJ and Producer Déni-Shain & Thomas Vicente, Atangana Records is the fruit of a friendship and an unlikely alliance between Déni, a true digging globe-trotter, who has spent over twenty years traveling the world in search of artists and uncovering tropical hits, and Thomas an entrepreneur, who reached beyond his career in hospitality, to make a move on his and Deni’s passion for tropical music.
« MIZIK SOLEY SA BON » is the first volume of a tribute to the great Guadeloupean producer Henri Debs by Atangana Records & Henri Debs & Fils.
It is the result of a meeting which led us to listening to over 1400 hours of music, exploring the discographie of a visionary  inside his very own mythical studios.
Digging and putting together these 4 titles, the Atangana team really wanted to put the focus on the work of the producer. Producing a disque is always a rich human experience, Henri started his carrier as a perfume street seller  (poster of the maxi) during the week and doing gigs with his friends the week-end, he understood this right at the time.
The goal of this collaboration is to restore and re-edit the rare titles of Debs releases. In order to carry out this 3-year project, Atangana will be settling down at Henri Debs & Fils in Pointe à Pitre in September

The Vision arrive with their first original output, where the Bristol-Boston collab deliver a soulful dose of house goodness. The release from genre defying musician Ben Westbeech and crate digger royalty KON also features Ben’s long-time collaborator Andreya Triana, whose powerhouse vocals you may recognise from Breach’s ‘Everything You Never Had (We Had It All)’. Opening the release is ‘Heaven’, a funk-laden and vocal-led cut destined for the dancefloor, followed by ‘Home’, a soulful lament that showcases Andreya’s flawless vocals as much as the duo’s exquisite production abilities. This release shows the music obsessed pair take inspiration from deep in their record collections, and as more releases build up in the pipeline for 2019 this is an exciting preview of things to come.

"I made the album this spring during an intense creative period back home in Stockholm. I was obsessed with my studio, I wanted to spend all my time awake there. I found out I was getting evicted from it, this sudden chock turned into a decision to do this album. It made sense, like an "end of an era" thing. I was pretty isolated back then, spending almost all my time outside of the studio with my daughter Bozi. She snapped the cover photo while I was picking out records for a gig. I never wanted to leave the studio during these months, but I realise now how the breaks with Bozi worked for the process - they gave me space to reflect on the music I was making. That dynamic was exactly what I needed to finish this album." - Bella Boo
