Seville-based Flumo Recordings welcomes a local producer and selector, Feros, to the family.

With classic piano training from young age to exposure to opera recordings at his parents' home, Feros was quick to fall in love with music and discover different sounds and scenes that still hold a significant influence on his music; such as the American break beat scene of Florida and techno of Detroit, as well as, acid house culture of United Kingdom and far spanning electronica movements of Europe.

''And Finally... EP'' opens up with ''Elysium'', a high-paced 4 on the floor track, rich with hi-hat programming and arpeggio'd synth patterns with overlapping pads. While ''Reverie'' fuses broken rhythms, acid lines with melancholy, yet uplifting melodies; the final track, ''Nimbus'', ends up the project and explores merging of break beat and ambient atmospheres.

Overlapping drum machine and synth programming, along with explorative and broken rhythms, act as a nod to some of Feros' key influences such as Omar-S, Juan Atkins, Legowelt and René Pawlowitz. Yet, he maintains the skill of mixing the right amount of sounds to explore endless variations of rhythm and melody without detracting from his key objective; not lock himself into a single genre that would prevent him from the best emotional expression through the craft of making timeless recordings.

MIMS Guest Mix: Arnheim (Barbara Recordings, UK)

We're back with a really special guest for this edition of MFT. The legendary German digger and DJ, behind the famous compilations Glücklich and Soulgliding: Rainer Trüby!

For the section of the show, I selected a few future jazz classics I discovered recently, including some great spiritual jazz like Kahil El'Zabar Quartet and some Jazzy Hip Hop like the last project by Elzhi & Georgia Anne Muldrow. Enjoy the great Dorothy Ashby’s cover «Soul Vibrations » by Alina Bzhezhinska and the previously extract from the new Kyoto Jazz Sextet album "Watarese"

For the second part Rainer Trüby put together a great mix of deep Jazz with under the radar tracks by Jaco Pastorius, Khan Jamal, Carmen McRae, Morrissey Mullen and Lesette Wilson. You can find here too some forgotten jazz tracks by Özay, Bruno Spoerri and Noriko Miyamoto With Isao Suzuki !

First play and an exclusive video premiere on this infectious house number from Spanish producer, Skygaze, nom de plume of architect-by-day, Jamie Tellado, from his forthcoming 'Astral Trip' EP on Flumo Recordings.

Architect by day and musician by night, Jaime Tellado picks up his Skygaze alias again and returns to the  Flumo Recordings fold with a brand new 12", the ‘Astral Trip’ EP; combining his knowledge of architecture with a love of sound to construct and merge acid house, broken beat and atmospheric melodicism.

The 'Astral Trip' EP follows releases on Guayaba records, Riverette and Thirty Three Circular. And remixes for Ed is Dead and Contours & Yadava, earning support/plaudits from the likes of Mr. Scruff, Simbad, K15, Andrew Jervis, Gilles Peterson, amongst others.

The common denominator throughout the release is the balance and combination of various elements, exploring a multifaceted contemporary dance sound whilst paying homage to the foundations of the sounds that we listen to today. EP opener "Minor Mood" pays tribute to Chicago and Detroit with its high paced house rhythm, acid synths, and piano lines.

FLUMO FILES 053 - “DELIGHTUNES” - VV.AA.

Flumo’s back with a new various artists sampler. Following FLR052's expansive addition of new sound makers to the family, this package provides a batch of new rhythms from a mixture of old and new faces of the family.

Acasual's recent musical growth and output, including 'Euphorie' on our 50th release anniversary package and his modern classic 'Spring Theory', continues here with 'Ballad Of Nothing', a romantic soundscape progressively moving in sheets of analogue pads and swinging amalgamation of hi-hats, opening up this compilation on a dreamy note.

Two new faces of the family provide the second title. Venezuelan producer duo Maurice Aymard & Paulo Olarte has collaborated on multiple occasions, and while residing separately in Barcelona and Germany, respectively, they don't fail to maintain their create friendship, and juice flowing to carry Acasual's dreaminess to the dance floor with uplifted tempo, arpeggiated synths and sub dominantly groovy subs.

A slower look into the context of dreaminess is explored by Manuel Costella, one half of Flumo's resident beat makers Defense Of Execess. In this piece the synths slow down, hi-hats obtain a crispier, rolling sound and bass becomes dirtier and jagged. Rhythms for evening drives.

Lorenzo Soria takes depth of this release into further levels. Seville residing DJ, producer and label friend, Lorenzo explores romanticism with the modulation of synths into a softer realm with Say Goodbye To The Bad Guy. The funky displacements of bass provide for jacking groove, while sampled Scarface speech provides for a fittingly purposeful space for ones' reverie.

Another Flumo's favourite, Bodega, returns to provide further take on danceable soundscapes. Thickness of layers is explored by Bodega's Escape From Mix Down, a track with further tempo increase, broken synth rhythms and sub-dominal bass.

Jo Pariota's Nigh Feeling takes turn into analogue realm. Liquid female vocal carries the theme of dreams, while warm synth and sweet hi-hats provide for perfect club-night warmer.

Flumo's close associate Scan Mode, takes the club vibe further up. Softly distorted synths provide for minimalist groove while carefully placed percussion elements create pace to set dance- floor's attendees in the right move.

MInimized founder, Sevilla based 1001 provides the closing piece for this package. Amalgamation, of elements explored in previous titles, creates for a suitable closer. Rolling hi-hats, sub bass and off-placed synths provide for a thematic closer to the story of ones' dreams.

Line Explorations present its first release – a compilation consisting of six tracks by six national artists, producing under the names of T’iwu, HTL, PX, emme, AMSH and Mensaje Sanador, serving as a sampler for what’s to come in the future on the label and the sounds the label will evoke such as techno, IDM, ambient, noise, drone and experimental vibrations from the further avant-garde,

The first track focuses on growing an organic and everyday sonic scape with the use of chords and melodies filled with light touch - reminiscent of clear skies and sunshine – which creates an ambient feel similar to that of daily vibrations of life as presented and explored by T’iwu.

HTL enhances the depth of the reflections of today’s emotions one can feel by delving deeper into everyday surroundings and exploring the noise/drone side of the ambient musical styles by mixing melodic elements with the out of the ordinary effects which shock and ululate while shaping the musical texture into a darker and deeper atmosphere. 

The following track, by PX, elevates the atmosphere into a more jovial soundscape full of ‘80’s inspired electronica and sci-fi soundtracks. The beat rolls off and twists in a funky groove helping develop a danceable pace for the release.

On top of that, emme presents the fourth track - in the shape of techno meets breaks - where more classical elements of industrially influenced electronic music can be traced from yesteryears. The sounds engulf in warmly distorted melodic strings while flowing over and under the rhythmic structure.

In contrast, AMSH’s ‘’Subway’’ presents a downpour of heavy sounds, such as noise influenced synths and delayed infected percussion, along with field recording of trains help envision the movement of a manmade machine and its flow through the undergrounds of today’s world.

The final piece, of the label’s initial release, comes in the shape of a Mensaje Sanador or healing message. The track takes on the elements of the three titles that have preceded it and explores further the dynamics between current and classical sounds of the electronic dance music genres by delving deeper into sound synthesis, melodies and rhythm as to help one submerge further into exploring such sounds, their history and the future to come.
