The Little Drummer Boy", originally known as "Carol of the Drum" is a popular Christmas carol written by composer Katherine Kennicott Davis in 1941 and was published based upon a traditional Czech song.  
In the lyrics, the singer describes how, as a poor young boy, he was summoned by the Magi to the Nativity of Jesus. Without a gift for the Infant Christ, the little drummer boy played his drum saying, “I played my best for him” and "He smiled at me."

There have been many renditions of this timeless Christmas song, however very few know the history changing story behind the song. Oh Holy Night was composed by French poet Placide Cappeau (CAPOO) in 1843.  

Everytime you hear this song, I want you to think about this:
Reportedly, the song was requested by a French priest. 
The words were written by a drunk poet who ended up leaving the church. The music was written by a Jewish composer who didn’t believe the story, nor celebrate the holiday. 
This song was brought to America by a Unitarian pastor to expose the Gospels view on modern day slavery. 
This beautiful song was the first song ever broadcast over radio waves! 

'O Holy Night' reminds us that Jesus, —HOLY Jesus, was born in a manger. Through His humble beginnings, we remember to love mankind through Jesus’s example. We fall on our knees in awe and worship Him. We recall the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus underneath brightly shining stars. The same stars that pointed to the Savior of the world on that beautiful, holy Night.
