mirage of migrant, trucks full of food tiny boutiques nose up looking down
street dancers, performers, the arts little stalls selling fruit

and the bus tumbles through

HOWEVER GUS, You remember Gus? The driver of this bus...
Regretfully informs us that our engine food is at the edge of E, and the only thing we'll be running on soon is fumes

And as we approach, We can hear
A dusty massive heart beating city industry eldritch being and foreboding
Sitting atop his sky scrapers gloating
"Hungry enough yet?" It's beastly maw cries! "It's 10 for 5 and the price only went up 6.7%
Nothing to you, you're worker bees and you can make more honey, can't you?"

While yes that's true
We are the life blood that flow through
But people like me and you
Can't afford it

Fortune cookie flavor our journey
It's the last I got
I'm looking for the old woman
The gate keeper to the other side
Where we have the wholly divide
Away from this hellish relish
And Instead:
Dumpling soup, dumpling plump, fried in foie gras butter perhaps?
Holy condiment burns through fiery on your Thai chili adjusted tongue,

BUT THAT'S JUST ME! It tastes different for everyone

We are all starving, the bus is outta' gas, and spewing smoke, Gus is cussing up a storm, Roberta's lighting up her last swiff... I think Larry's getting water"

The Smoking Trout continue our tale of the Quest for the Holy Dumpling. This time we're joined by our biggest crew yet! Stonerjazz (Jeff) got us started and somehow the whole process unfolded quite organically from there. TexMex Shaman (Stephen), Jo Richter, Tot (Masa), Jeff and Tea R Sea (Terry) are regularly recurring members of the band. We are happy to welcome Wivresse (Carine) and Neil Harding as new guest contributors. This was tons of fun as always, and a truly global collaboration spanning Japan, France, Germany, UK, and USA.

Those individuals on wheels had a hard time finding their feed. Hungry they were - for that special dumpling that connects you to anything pagans and believers alike deem holy. Although endowed with holgraphic properties, you can't walk on clouds unless they are numbered. They kept drifting upwards, therefore, slowly upwards until they hit the ceiling called Mars. Mars always happens to be where your head needs something to bump against. That's the nature of war.

It turned out
there was never any doubt
about
how it was gonna be

ya know it's hard sometimes
to get a grip
drifting in the corridors of time

everybody on the bus
runnin hard and hot
some of us holograms
except for Gus
he's an Alien from outer space
waiting for the rendezvous
at the window of the launch
in Oaxaca down in Mexico
Where the magic mushrooms grow

And his bus
a shuttle from the mother ship
disguised as a 1983 GMC
infinity
He's from another Galaxy
searching for the holy dumpling
just like you and me.

Hope we find that dumpling soon
maybe it's on the moon
traveling at the speed of light
we could get there sometime later on tonight

he liked to think that he had earned it
but that simply not the case.
He just dreamed it up one sunday afternoon
while drowsing and lounging in the Ether
where the US resides
while living on a Proton Banished
to the outskirts of a single Atom
In a single Universe-
It was a wicked Curse, specifically designed for him
A scorcerer, Albert Rufus Smith
Stole a Rocket ship and he took it to Uriah
He was a rascal and scoundrel and a liar and a thief
But he had a magic knife that he had won in a game of dice
on a stormy night in a corner of some ruins
in the desert in december by the fire light with some other witches from Oaxaca
where he'd Spied Roberta picking magic mushrooms naked in the moonlight
with her brothers and her sisters and some others from the Bus-
It seems that Albert Rufus Smith Was Smitten

The eternal now is Wow
When we wonder why we wander
where we will
while walking walking walking to fulfill
the contemplated vacancy
Beyond the vast Horizen

Alberts knife was sliver with a handle made of Amber
when he held it high above his head
it gave off a blinding light
and on that night on the planet of Uriah
when Gus and all his jolly happy hopeful holograms arrived
on that Beat-up Bus
That formulated plan in Alberts wicked head
appeared to be on Track
had he not been messmerized by Roberta's perfect presence and physic
he might have pulled it off, that dirty rotten little sneak--

Sid and Larry caught him and his Cronies
trying to steal the bus and Abduct
Sally and Roberta too, Who
were sleeping on the bus in the back together as they always do,
And Gus was not Amused-
Albert seemed to be confused until he held his Magic knife up high
and blinded ever bodies eye
and in a frantic flight he escaped into the distant night--

Everybody on the bus, Gus and Stu
and some others from Uriah, too, made up their minds
packed up their kinds and kith and kin
and decided unattachedly to pack it in
and Johnny, all nostalgic for the solitude of melancholic bedsheet ascetism, said
"We should go to Zed" and smiled in mild remembrance
"I saw a crack a couple light years back in the space time continuum,
with a sign that read, Zed, 50 miles straight ahead.
We might get there in time to liberate my lost accordion
from the clutches of the local patron
a relative of Mr Smith’, if I am not completely wrong.“

Uriah had a riot
when the dumplings disappeared
trampled by the herds of lust, desire
lampooned by the nerds of rust and fire
gobbled up by fast food throats and street flock trucks
and someone farted, burped and said they wanted seconds
and that was when the trouble started and ursurped the mental landscape
and who’s to blame but some minions from that moppet, Alfred Rufus Smith
who to his simian bewilderment was headed back to earth
in that stolen starship that he stole again, restole and stole for just another time
(the way rebirthing beings rack up karma by incarnating ceaselessly)
from the only holy spaceport of that karmic spacelord on the potted planet
frowned upon by Gus and Stu and all the riders of experience on the nirwana bus--

--"And so it was , they crossed the boundry into Zed, and landed lightly on the purple plain
and when they did, all the holograms on board the bus turned into real Girls and Boys
Would love to say thing turned out well but what the hell , who can tell
Uziel Wivress, Neal Nic and Nadia, jeff and Jo, Stephen Tot and Terry too enjoyed the view as the bus it hit the ground
in the golden grass near the end of June--
Gus and all the crew were happy to have arrived safe and sound
and without a scratch on that sacred patch of rock in space--

see the tarmac flotilla in karmic espandrilles
sharpen their common intuition
and like expanding armadillos
overcome respective inhibition
and cross across the crucial rift and ,riffing, raft the cosmic shift
and wake up in the place where Jonny is remembered as the bringer of the dumpling and the player
of the most beautiful instrument Divine --
