Quite an old track this one but a shame to miss it from Artist Pro. The Japanese Koto is one of my favorite Asian instruments and the way I orchestrated this piece has echoes of one of those mega James Bond movie themes.

EASTERN PROMISE

My longtime friend John Butcher wrote most of the lyrics for this song having been diagnosed with cancer.  Hence my inclusion of him as the other artist. This is a dark song in many ways as John saw death as a release from his suffering. Apologies for my terrible singing. No AI on this.

GUZHENG INTRO

Creator of a new genre, Orchestral House. The idea behind Orchestral House is to bring together instruments from the orchestra and modern day instruments like heavy metal guitar and synthesizers in compositions that feature strong house tempos.

Some compositions have several verses with different constructs while others are intended for podcast intros so are intentionally repetitive.

Back in the 60s I was rhythm guitarist and, sometimes, songwriter  and lead singer for British band Colors Demesne. Sadly while the band went into the studio for one recording session several members had university places lined up so we disbanded. This was followed by a long gap during which I greatly broadened my taste in music. The early 2000s saw my growing interest in digital music production, establishing a home studio and beta testing for leading sample library developer Orchestral Tools. More recently I've decided to return to writing and recording. I'm fortunate in having a wide range of sample libraries at my disposal - too many to be honest - so I've decided to challenge myself to produce music in a wide range of genres from house to classical. These are humble beginnings so please be patient. The basic house and podcast-type intro/jingle pieces are a small part of what will follow but at least it's a start. The name Chilled Ambience was suggested by a close relative as a title for an early house track, but I decided to also adopt it for my SoundCloud artist name.

For most compositions I use an Arturia Keylab Essential 61 midi keyboard controller. Cubase and Reaper are my goto DAWS and I'm exploring the application of AI for vocals to provide me with access to unison backing vocals as well as distinctive male and female lead vocals.
