Once upon a fairy tale, a heroine was born
with heart as black as space and darkness, from which she was torn
and in this fairy tale, she spoke an ancient tongue
the ink as bleary as the void from which our hero’d sprung
she took her thorns in hand, heard the voices from afar
lost her mind and took command, played the game and here you are.

Little lilac wizard girl, with hair as white as snow
you’ll go on an adventure, testing everything you know
you’ll see the world asleep, and see the light awake
find dissonance upon your planet old, which you will break
forsake thy mother’s name, she’s not with you anymore
grab your books and play the game, prepare yourself for what we’ve got in store.

There’s more to darkness than your mind can see
an endless reach of possibilities
no justice, vengeance, no concept of right
yes, darkness is more than an absence of Light.

Little golden goddess girl, with smile as black as ice
take down the universe, and then give it your best advice
the horror is your friend, the terror loves you best
so go now, and push into motion all objects at rest
see through the veil of white, fall into a gothic trance
woe is your perfected sight, you know best that naught is hand of chance

to dance with black death is your specialty
perchance to dabble in what things might be
beneath your eyelids lies an endless night
yes, close your eyes and find an absence of Light. 

Lay your weary head to rest and drift on many waves
and waken after slumber dwindles down the many days
left on the calendar that’s ticking in your mind
a ticking bomb gripped tightly by the tentacles of time
until the clock runs out, paths converging once more
end of all is coming now, you will fade, becoming naught but lore
